The Ridge road is a large open space, located in the heart of Shimla, the capital city of Himachal Pradesh, India. It runs east to west alongside the Mall Road, and joins it at the Scandal point on the west side. On the east side, the Ridge road leads to Lakkar Bazaar, a wooden crafts market. The Ridge houses a large water reservoir which acts as the main supply of Shimla town. The Ridge road is also the venue for Summer festival, government functions and local celebrations during the New Year's Eve. Prominent landmarks on the Ridge are a neo-Gothic structure of Church from 1844 and a tudorbethan styled library building built in 1910.
Summer Hill is a suburb of Shimla, the state capital of Himachal Pradesh at a height of 2,123 meters. It is situated on a hill, 5 km west to the Shimla Ridge, and is part of the seven-hill cluster which forms Shimla.
Junga is a tehsil in the Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh, India. Its original name (with diacritics) is Ju-nga. Junga is located at an average elevation of 1,582 metres (5,190 feet). It is located 26 kilometers away from the city of Shimla, 18 kilometers from Chail and 28 kilometers from the skiing destination Kufri. Junga is surrounded by green hills with snow capped mountains and has a forest cover of kail, deodar, pine, cheel, ban and other trees. It is known for the palace of erstwhile Junga Princely estate. The estate of Junga, also known as Keonthal estate, was formed before 1800 AD.
