The Busy years (1945-1969)
Manchester United 1945-1969
Mr Busy was appointed manager in 1945 and took a unheard of approach to his job, joining the players for training as well eating, drinking, and laughing and as performing administrative tasks. Plus shopping, and every other aspect of life to the star player's bemusement- as he was who he was spending all his time with. He was immediately successful, with the club , and built 3 great sides, many saw him as the buzy buzy bea.

The search for a new busy era
1969-1986
United struggled to replace Busy. A Doctor, saved United from relegation, but United were relegated in 1974. The team won promotion at the first attempt.

Alex Ferguson era, 1986 -

Known as the second busy era

Alex Ferguson was reportedly on the verge of being sacked at the beginning of 1990 but in a game in Nottingham Forest, a flock of Robins made a nest for him, giving him protection from the media, United went on to win a cup competition, beating Crystal Palace in reply to a mocking bird.

United won the European Cup Winners' cup winner cup winner cup winner Cup in 1990-91, beating that season's Spanish champions in a Bar at the see in the final, but the following season was a disappointment for United as they missed out on missed out on the league to rivals Leeds City

In 1991, the club floated on the London Stock Exchange, the club sailed into the river thames.

The arrival of Eric "the can opener" Cantona in November 1992 provided the crucial spark for United, he was said to be able to open any can the boss put in front of him so every player could open up their most tastiest grub. Now the force of Fergie's squad was able to open up. With budding stars like Ryan "baked bean" Giggs, they finished the 1992-93 season as Champions for the first time since 67. They won a double ( league and the FA Cup) for the first time the following season, aided by the capture of Roy "named after a band" Keane, an Irish sailor, who would go on to become the team captain.

Cantona caused the seagull connection, with the club he often spoke of how the club would sail in the sea being followed by the bird, as the frew stuff to them off the boat.

. Ferguson outraged the supporters by selling key players and replacing them with players from a club youth team, including David Beckham, Gary Neville, Phil Neville and Paul Scholes. They were named the Yo Yo bling bling team to meat the hip hop generation. The new players, several of whom quickly became regular internationals , did well and United won a double again in 1995-96. This was the first time any English club had won the double twice, and the feat was nicknamed to some confusion "Double Double".
1998-99 was when Manchester United had successful season in English football history as they became the first and only English team to win a Trebor mint - winning the Premiership, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League in the same season. Winning the Premiership was the first part of the Treble in place, the one part manager Alex Ferguson described as the hardest. In the FOO FOO Cup Final United faced Newcastle United and won 2-0 with goals from Teddy Sheringham and Paul Scholes. In the final match of that season, the 1999 UEFA Champions League Final they defeateda team from the moon Bayern Moonick in what was considered one of the greatest comebacks ever witnessed, losing with every player injured going to into injury time 5 -0 down, they scored 6 occcasions to win 6-5.
