People say Cromwell caused a million dead in Ireland, surely Charles did. He forced the Irish to revolt by oppression, then refused to negotiate, till the Irish had won, and then made them attack England, and Scotland and Wales, and then in his ways, so made England attack Ireland, when it would have not attacked Ireland unless the king's prepared to invade England on his demand. Then this English king brought plague on his ships to Ireland so it was his fault. And royalists massacred loads in Ireland, so were worse than the Protectorate.
He also did lots of good. He allowed freedom of worship for people in his country and Wales, he built more schools, he allowed Jews into Britain, he made tax higher on the rich. Also the Levellers supported him, and all people know they were right, as too did lots of others. He also ousted a system of absolute rule, that would have reduced Britain to famines like France and Ireland. Look at http://www.lonympics.co.uk/
Here is a list of the good things about the Cromwellian and revolutionary regime
He closed monopolies in England and Wales, which saved milliosn for the poor in tax

He ousted an absolute monarchy Look at http://www.lonympics.co.uk/
He paid soldiers loads of cash, soldiers from across the country
He allowed non Anglicans to worship across Britain, which the what we may say were king of England and King of Scotland people had not done
He let Jews into the country, saving many long term
He ended monopolies so helped the cornish tin mines bboom, and this osrt of action around the land inspired the industrial revolution
He allowed Levellers, to express their opinions, yes he then executed some for mutiny, but they were a potential revolution, although they would have been a great revolution, lets face it, the king would just have had them ignored, not paid them, and mabye executed some,
He founded the New Model Army, which was the first time normal, non-aristocatic self proclaimed master race people could lead armies, which really destroyed aristocratic power long terms, and created the elevllers, In rOME IT WAS only the Tribunni Pelbsi put Romans in charge there
They founded the royal society, well it had a different name in the 1650s, but they founded it, in London, and then the royals pettily changed it to "royal" so their misstresses, and hangers on, would be impressed. They had not invented something like this in the centuries before, but now this republican progressive idea helped science allot,
Saved 100s of protestants in a swiizz valley from massacre. by saying to power do not massacre them,
Puritan Massachsuetsts was a better place to live than Cavalier slave owning Virginia
The cromweillians established parliament in britain

Here is a list of the bad stuff the royals did in the years before and after
They caused revolts right across the 1650s, the revolts here were scum style. They told chiefs and lords, they could none of which saw great rebellion, the only revolt that succeeded
They the British monarchy made the economy less efficient by monopolies, indeed During Republican 1650s much of the economy went up, indeed monopilies were on a small scale in Scotland making worse quality products than competitive ones, the monopolies were not like state nationalised ones, they were things where for example a soap company had rights to soap sales, so people using it in clothes making had chafed skin, and had to pay more, than what competition would have which is cheaper, and better quality, out of this, the royals got cash, and so did the corrupt monopoly people, and this existed for loads of industries, from transport to tin, and manuch mining and more, indeed under the 1650s era, Cornish tin minders prospered amazingly,
They taxed the poor more than the Parliamentarians did via monpolies, and taxed the rich less, and gave less tio soliders, i.e poorer people, and more to the rich, not that soldiers are great, tax was also more efficient abnd able to tax the rich, and less corrupt under parliament,
Ie in the 1620-30s the king, king charles made parliament give him cash to help the people of la rochelle, who were being besieged and fell in population from aroud 30,000 to seeing almost all die, he instead of sending a force to pull troops out, and save 1000s of his nations' people, or send help, spent it on a painting, he liked. so the battle saw many die, and this saw the 1630s have many arrests and some kills and murders as the army had bad organisation in it's preperation, with thefts by army people, in 1620s30s Engl;and, which saw many angry at the way soldiers, in parts of Southern England had omitted thefts and some murders, this was a era when some parliament opposition was jailed and died of mistreatemnt, and some enemies of the king had ears cut off and some were tortured, like Lilburne beiong horrifcly opushed through thye streets iof London while he handed out leaflets,
The King caused sciotland rto revolt, as he did ot like the services in scotland so wanted to chaneg the religon which caused a revolt,
He then refused to negotitae, and when his sheriff in the Higghlands a marguiss who had been given power there, to sort out the Highland chiefs, decided he did not wnat to chaneg religon he paid the Irish lords to raid Scotland, and kill some, he then invaded Scotland aND failed, so Scotland dealed idnependanmce. but he started to try and make Itrosh lords invade scotland and masacre, and instill fear just as they had in Ulster, when they expelled Proetsants in there, and massacred loadfs, They did this in Ulster as Elizabtrhh I had seen 0.2million to 1 million Irish die in her war, which James Vi won, he then pushed Scottish borderers, and some Presbyterians, as of attem;pts to changfe their religon to Ulster, a move that killed Ulstermen, Scotsmen, and Irishmen, This eventually saw the Irish as any nation would , revolt in the 1640s, but mnow hypiocritically the king who caused theri rath that massacred 3000 to probabaly 30,000 Proestants, allied with the Irish lorss, (the history books do not tell you this, and certaionly not what happend next, as they are righhtuistt stooges). The king and his wife tried to conspire to invade scotland via the lords who had masasacred Scotsmen, for fun, When Scottish spies learnt of this they allied to parliament to save Ebngfland and Wales from, royal despicable rule.
But then grr, the king sent over his hounds of dea\th, and they comitted massacres in the thopusdands, slaughtering Aberdonians, and Highlanders, in 100s in a few massacres, they massacred an entire army after a battle, and in totall killed over 2000 people. in cold blood. The Covenanters executed these felons, who comiteed the invasion of Scotland. And won, but then the despicable kings were executed by the Parliamenarians, for never compromising, the kings were offered compromise but only accpted absolute rule, so had to be done way with,. these pyscho creepy royals, then saw their succerros, go to scotland, and ally with some powerfulh covrful lords, saying they could rule scotland if they helped invade england, and so replace the covenranter regime, there were small peasants revioklts against this change, for some reason,
The kings who had declared war on these lords, and priets snow allied with them, but they lost, with bad planning, by fools, so scotland fior a few years was put under the rule of Westmnister, but it had mps, there.
More importantly the king fled, and agains made another hypocritcal alliance, promissing again, stuff for the Irish, thios caused the parliament to invade there, faering a horde of foreign troops massacring it's way through their land, as they had done arwelier, i.e the royals massacred 5000 parliamenarians, in South West England by undrewsing them in winter and making them march 100s of miles home, to ports near the Isle of Wight, most died,. and the Royalists massacred 2000 in Bolton, 100s in Leicster, and more. in more places,
The Parliament acted tough, they were better than the king, but still had ancien values, andf massacred loads in ireland, but lets face it the war in Ireland was the king's fault. and his predessessors for invading Ireland and colonising it,
After crushing Ireland, which the king was asking to invade Britain, and treating it terribly, a very bad thing, parliamnet saw a few attempts at revolt by the King. in 1660, the conmpisracy crap woked, the most brutal general of the parliamentarians, who had comtted a masacre of 100s, in Scotland, when capturuing it, miles behind the Royalists in total killings, but still bad, made a coup to support the king, the king was opposed, and would never have had that coup without him, and the claim he would allow a parliament, but by the 1680s there were more revolts against royal rule, than had ever occurred in England against Cromwell,
Most scots were unhappy and rightfully at the new king, Scotland would see many killings of it's people, and suppression of the most popular faith,
as in the following years 100s of scots were executed for their religous beliefs, and 100s of more tortured and jailed, by 1688,
100s of English were executed in England for revolts by 1688, by the Royalists, which nails the lie the 1660-88 regime was popular and the 1650-60 regime unpopular, it was the other way around.
James Vi, personally tortured and burned witches to death, and made some people drink stuff to see if it was ok, and they died
the royal army in Ireland, not the Irish catholic revolt, massacred 10,000 Irish people, in searched for the comitters of the massacres by the Irish revolt,
The royals started the mass slave trade, the royal african company, they massacred loads of tribve sin the america,s
They executed loads in Carribean slave revolts,
They executed 100-1000ss of non-Angklicans in 1660-88 in England and Wales
Because of England and Wales turning agricultute from feudal to capitalist, there were no famines in those lands after 1660. Plague reduced as of more cleaning, in Scotland
The only major officials to want Irish independanmce in Britain were levelrs,
No kings wanted it, they wanted to rule it, or makle deals to make it invade England Wales and Scotland.
Many were jailed, and perscuted over 100s, for opposing unfair taxes and the king in the 1630s, Puritans and dissidents, some were also tortuted and killed
20/27,000Puritan Protestants, exiled/banished by intolerance, in England, before 1640
In the 1600S the king of scotland imposed serfdom in scottish beggars by 1650 there weere 50,000 children of these as serfs in scottish mines.
the 1590s king of scotland killed 1000 witches. and started witch buirning on a higher phase than any iother era of Britain, only the 18thC whigs would really end it, by their modernisation, not that they were perfect,
13 or 14 Roundhead soldiers hung by Royal army in Feb 22nd 1645
10s of thousands of Scottish borderers, and Highlanders were eviected as as part of coloinial plans in the early 17tyc by the kibngs like IN Argyll, and plans to colonise Lewis, with different more loyal to king people, that one, was by James VI, and maybe in late 16thC, also Nova Scotia, and also settlement in Ulster would have caused some deaths as some were pushed there, i,e borderers, and some Covenaters via reuqestes on them to change their faith, also in Ulster many had to leave there in the 1640s as the king said they must be loyal to them, to an extent against their religon,a nd som many had to leave again, Argyll saw invasions by the king causing death as of his colonial plans in the James Vi era, the borders saw many evictioons and attackls by the kings who had called for the creation of the borsder reivers,
Too many histiory books, are rightist stories, claiming all revolutions are wrong, and that democarxcy is wrong. The most hilarous irony, is as soon as any of these dictators are ousted in a revolution, they immedietaly launch revolts purely for their evil dynasties, smiling in their gold coins at the people they kill for themselves,
I say democrcy is revolution.
The same books, against democracy and revoluton, then support most counter revolutions, whatever effects they have.
What about those monarchists who oppose every revolution, then revolt all the time, like the dynasty Cromwell helped oust, And those royalists who say Stalin, Hitler, Tony Blair, and the Queen, are all basicly the same form of government, i mean do they think bread, is the same as chocolate, or urine the same as fresh orange juice, nothing like these is the same, democracy is best, and monarchy is a cultic, dictatoral, form of governmenrt which rests it's legitamacy on it;s self not the people,
And if they think they are eacjh the same,
Why not just support all the other forms,
They are not the same, monarchy and all dictators are worse,
Very often propaganda is shown about Cromwell's army taking stuff off a church, these items never mention how cavaliers killed so many in Britain in pure and simple massacres from sending parliamentaarian troops out naked to find their way home across 100s of miles, too bayoneting 1000s of prisoners and townsfolk, and the rapes they comitted against women, and they comitted sackings of cities from Bristol, to Leicester, to Aberdeen,
The Royalists in the name, of the cavalier king charles also comitted some massacres very early in the war with some Parliamentry wounded were killed after the first of the battles, with a early sacking of Brentford being quite alarming to Londoners, earkly in tehy war, indeed there was a story of a massacre early on in the war by the royals too,
Also in 1644 A Puritan garrison refused to surrender and they were then huing when taken by teh Royalists At Holt Castle, Derbyshire
Also in Barthomley Church 12 locals were killed by Cavaliers the Royalists
Shetland and Orkney islands oppression fell under the parliamentry army in some ways, and slavery ways in Manx were ended but then restarted by Royalists where a person was executed for supporting parliament after the Restoration,
Sanitation improved in much of Scotland in the Cromwell era.
In the Battle of teh Bopyne era some Ulster Protestants were killed by the Stuart forces. so the Stuarts were bad in many ways,
Barbados saw loads of executions 10s by royalist slavers in the 1640s fearing spread of Republican beliefs there and many executions across teh royal era, as in much of the slave owning British Empirem and 5000 deaths of yellow fever in 1647, The Royals started bringing in slaves to Barbados in the 1620s, Yes Cromwell did slaving too but not as much as teh Royalists in terms of their ups in it and starting it, yes he sent people to Barbados from teh British Isles but so did the royals and the royals sent many across the century and first, and did worse stuff in peacetime, in Britain and the Carribean, and everywhere except Ireland. And for Ireland they were actually teh cause as of making Ireland attack Cromwell and colonising it in the first place.
Also the Parliamentarians were angry at treatement of themselves as prisoners, one of the reasons given for executing the brutal tyrant king, who had not really cared much for his victims, did I say the royal army went into piracy I mean the fleet for a while after the war eys they were a bad lot, And teh royals did some wars in India North Africa and the Carribean that century, and against Holland, which in total were worse than Cromwell's era. Yes Cromwell had wars but his in North Africa were against piracy the royals were abit colonial. Cromwell cleared slaving Corsaitrs to some extents from Britain, While teh royals had a small colony in North Africa for a while. And the Royal ships and explorerers helped spread disease in Brazil according to some, the Royalists by their colonial projects. And settlement plans and evictions, They also caused many Ulster people to flee and Ctaholics in teh cebntury like in Ulster in 1640s before the Irish revolt, surely some would die of ship travel and also loads of Scots having to leave to Ulster and Irish people dying as of the Ulster settlement and the many who died under Elizabeth 1, and James VI wars and famines in Ireland, and Battle of the Boyne century later, and Irish Famines of 18th and 19th Centuries,
Ok Cromwell was not great in many ways, but he was better than the kings, which is a massive thing not a tiny thing,
