Danielle Scott is the daughter of Charles Young and Vera Scott, and has a older brother, Charles and one sister.
She lived where she was born for 17 years, and was a strong Baptist. She likes to sing in her choir. When young she skated, made dolls house furniture, and played board games, tic-tac-toe, and games like that, which she says helped her be energetic and able to compete in sports.
At Kennilworth School, she went into after school activities and sports. At Woodlawn High, she excelled in volleyball, basketball, softball, track & field. and played club volleyball and AAU basketball.
In 1990, she won a scholarship at the University of California at Long Beach, in Volleyball and Basketball and competed in track and field in her last semester. She finished her Bachelor's degree in Liberal Studies with emphasis on Sociology. Though she cpuld carry on remaining in basketball, in June of 1994 she joined the USA National Volleyball team.
Just after the 1996 Olympics, she played her first professional league season in Rome, with Gierre Roma Pallavolo. Later she also went to the Brazilian and Japanese leagues.
In 1997 she was in the 4 member league for a group called Norelco. Also she performed in Beach Volleyball in 2000 in 2 AVP tournaments and 1 FIVB tournament in Madrid.
In 1998, she tried the WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks. She trained with them but was not selected for them, despite trying hard she was never put in the team, so instead opted for volleyball again, but still likes to play basketball. plus movies, reading during long road trips, and writing. If not in volleyball she would like to do Basketball, or the Long Jump.
She values her faith, family, friends, and has allot of respect for her parents.
She can speak English, a little Italian, a little Portuguse, less spanish, some Japanese and Chinese words.

1993 Led 49ers to the NCAA Championships
Was a 3 time, NCAA All American
Won 1995 Grand Prix with USA
2000 Led Olympics in terms of blocking.
2001 MVP in Grand Prix
2002 Silver Medal in Women's Volleyball World Championships
2003 Bronze Medal at World Cup
