The European Union is the best thing ever
The EU is the best thing in the world.
The European Union was expressly created to avert crisis like World War One, and World War Two. It succeeded in this process, and EU lands have had their longest ever period of essentially real peace.
Some people say Nato was repsonsible for that.
But Nato was one of a few organisations, the South East Asian group, which saw within it the Vietnam War, Indonesia's massacre of a million people in the 1960s, 500,000 Timorese killed, and Cambodia, and Laos, and more.
The other version of Nato, of the trio, was the Baghdad pact, of whose members, all remained dictatorships, and saw massive wars.
The only one that truly succeeded was Nato, as the Europeanm Union was there, guaranteeing democracy and freedom. Most years, no country in the EU opposes membership. The EU has the highest life expectancy on Earth, and the second largest democratic body in terms of eligable voters, just after the Republic of India.
To paraphrase the far right, I will now mock their foolish arrogance by saying if you do not like the EU, go and live somewhere else. They are the ones who criticise socialism, and liberalism, so should leave. Also look at Europe in 2008, the only war, was in non EU territory Russia V Georgia, and some Euro Sceptics, called a peace deal between Georgia and Russia a bad things as they felt only war and millions of deaths is the answer to problems, well I paraphrase their view, but its essentially what they wanted. The EU gives democracy and freedom in Europe impregnable strengh, like the USA gives to freedom and democracy where it is,
People always claim the EU is in chaos, when any minor harm happens to it, when loads of lands vote to join the EU, nobody says this means Eurosceptics, are all wrong, when French people vote to oppose extreme free market ideals, in the 2005 referenda, people, pretend that nobody was complaining about the free market, they forget the entire debate was a claim that voting yes to the treaty would be yes to the free market, no the right carry on pushing forward the free market, and pretend it was entirely a anti EU vote, even though most referendas, in EU history, have been for it, even though almost all the referendas, were for change, which is hard to get any referenda. to accept especially if against nationalism, and not about some populist banning this, or tax cuts for more likely to vote in mid term elections, rich people, or something, but these EU referendas are on utopian socialism, which easilly condemnned by idiots who control much media, even though it is the only way to betterness. The EU is also democratic, as it obeys the idea, that we are not just in our nation sites, it is internationalism, it does not say that people in another country are unimportant, it fits more into the truly democratic ideal of internationalism, internationalism is essential to true democratic principles I say, in democracy everybody is given a vote and a say, so making us all matter, surely by uniting us in some ways, is part of this, as we all live in the same world, and then need this fact of us all mattering, to be replicated in a constitutional sense, and the EU and UN put us on this path, of uniting us, so much more so, surely it is elitist and anti democratic to oppose this, to say, we must be only caring about people in our own nation state, and not care about people in others, the EU is essential and so is the UN, to this, and they are like democrtacy reasons, for more peace, undemocratic lands are more liable to war, as are less internationalist eras, Also the EU is a democracy, it has a parliament elected, and the rest of it's bodies, are chosen by democratic governments from around Europe, whose choices are scrutinised in genuinely democratic ways, it is a democracy, as much as the nation states of Europe are, in the sense that it's leaders can be deposed by elected people, and also in that so much plural debating power exists in it, and all by democratic states, there is no doubt the EU is as democratic as it's members, it has stronger pluralist elements than most of it's members, it should be even more democratic, and have even more egalitarian ways, like all EU lands,
The EU is a democracy and fits in with the principles, of equality, and freedom, and democracy, and by it not being there there would be a massive loss to democracy the EU should develop more elections and direct elections, of course, but it is already a democracy, no doubt about it, its's moves should be to be more of a direct democracy, but it is a democracy, as much as the British system, also the EU should carry on having laws which guarantee freedom and equality, as democracy is not just about voting, it should enshrine, minimum wages, and equality before law, and respect, and ways which establish freedom and equality across Europe, as freedom without equality and equality without freedom, are not really that possible, so the law should enshrine, those things, as it does, with elections, and democracy, as they are essential for a free society, these are things the EU moves towards, more so in reality than about every other democracy, freedom and equality and other laws enshrining human rights and freedom, that is why the EU yes should be even more democratic, and more free and egalitaerian, but free, you can not be free if people are able to oppress you, and treat you terribly, so the EU needs laws which have equality and fraternity to each other and respect and equality, for all, as in many ways it does more than most democracies, the EU is fantastic,
EU is a democracy
thats that
Also its the only way for us republicans in Britain to be in a republic, as it is a republican system no doubt about that.
From St Kilda, to Polish abandoned 19th C brick Granaries, by large rivers, to Swedish forests, to Portuguese villas, to Romanian forests of lynx, wolves and some horse and cart. To South Italian buildings recovered from the Roman era.
In 2006 I realised the EU constituinal treatuies and
UN stuff says they belive in equality and citizens, so nobody is superior to any
other this makes them republics so we win, as republicans, I say yes kings and
such are mentioned nut so are they as tribal chiefs in republics of brazil and
Ethiopia but they are still republics and us declar treatuies accept kings statemenst
like surrender so it is a republic so is gnome style no big man at tope of tibale,
eu commison a republic like the smurfs all deciding what to do in unison from
universal suffrage members sent from, each anybody e who says otherwise judge
or politician is an idiot and liar, for whatever reason they sday it it is still
so like switz communes and commonwealth of poland, and gnomes in a comitte what
is best for the em each as equals, The treaty of Nice also states the EU is for
equality, so that is that. The treaty of the late 1990s, of minor changes, to
help new member join, it also was for freedom, and solidarity,
History is
fun, useful for arguments, and a lesson for the future,
The only dangerous
statement was it saying the EU rests these values on the traditiosn of the eu
statesm but it says common to eu states, so monarchy is not that so it only equality
as a tradition of all eu states, so it is a republic,
The fact some members may have powerless monachs, does not stop the EU being a republic, just as the fact that the Kaiser's German Empire, had Hamburg which was a republic even if a right wing style one, did not stop the German Empire being a monarchy to 1918, i.e some people make claims to be king of Bardsey Isle, in Wales, or Lundy Isle, but they are not regarded as superior, even if they were elected pm, or chosen to sign a treaty and put that title on it, as they would be allowed to just as anybody is allowed to add titles, the fact is the eu is a republic, and secular but allowing religous beliefs to influnce views, as there is little about religon in it, if people wish to belive in God they are allowed to, so it is not goddless, it is secular. so that is that the eu is a republic, and so all European nations are. Also you may say then that all critixcs of the UN are war lovers, and despise peace.
