The Construction Industry Council (CIC)

Is a representative forum for the professional bodies, research organisations and specialist business associations in the construction industry.

It was set up as a Company Limited by Guarantee

The purpose is to :

serve society by promoting quality and sustainability in the built environment.
give leadership to the construction industry, encouraging unity of purpose, collaboration, continuous improvement and career development.
Add value and emphasis to the work of members.

It carries out Industry Improvement, Innovation and Research, Sustainable Development

CIC has warned online bidding should not be used for procuring professional services.
CIC has established an Online Bidding Response Group to trace the development of this tool and give feedback to the industry.

Project management has a strong tradition in the construction industry and is used on projects of all sizes and complexity. The Council tries to advise on the techniques.
