Construction Industry Training Board

CITB is the the UK training organisation for construction in the UK.

It is helps to provide a fully trained and skilled workforce in the UK construction industry.

They work with the CITB Northern Ireland and the Construction Industry Council (CIC), as the Sector Skills Council for Construction.

They are funded mainly by the construction industry

They run a CITB Levy & Grant system is designed to promote training.

It provides info about card schemes used in the industry such as:

Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) Described on their website as a way to prove that you are competent in your occupation and have health and safety awareness.
CPCS largest and most highly recognised card scheme for the plant industry, helping prove workers' operating skills and health and safety awareness.

BES Building Engineering Services division of CITB-ConstructionSkills. Provides training, assessment and certification for individuals operating in Gas, Electric, Water, Oil, Refrigerant and Steam industries.
