Drilling machine
and Drilling rig
Used for
foundation construction in the building industry, or for drilling water or oil
wells.
Heavy-duty production drilling machines are much heavier in construction and can handle heavier work.
Drilling
Machines Types
Drilling machines are classified on the basis of: constructional
features, or the type of work they are required to do
Some
are carried on a truck in the same way that a crane can be.
Often a Rotary
Drilling Rig is used

Automatic drilling machines:
Drilling
Counterboring : A counterbore can refer to a cylindrical flat-bottomed
hole, which enlarges another hole, or the tool used to create that feature.
Boring
Countersink
is a tapered hole drilled with a wide outer portion;
Spot facing;
Tapping
: Taps and dies are cutting tools used to create screw threads in solid substances
including, but not limited to, metal, wood, and plastic;
Work Holding Device

T-Bolt;
Clamps:
There is a hydrojet method for frozen ground in constructing foundations, consisting of bored-drop, bored-driven, and bored embedded piles .
drilling rig
A structure housing equipment used to drill into underground reservoirs for water, oil, or natural gas, or into sub-surface mineral deposits.
Mobile drilling rigs
Small mobile drilling rigs are also used to drill or bore piles. Rigs can range from 100 ton continuous flight auger (CFA) rigs to small air powered rigs used to drill holes in quarries, etc. These rigs use the same technology and equipment as the oil drilling rigs, a smaller scale.
The drilling mechanisms outlined below differ mechanically in terms of the machinery used, but also in terms of the method by which drill cuttings are removed from the cutting face of the drill and returned to surface.

- store double pipe stands in pipe rack
triple - store stands composed of
three pipes in pipe rack
quad - store stands composed of four pipes in pipe

rotation
no
rotation
rotary table - achieved by turning a square or hexagonal pipe at
drill floor level;
top-drive - rotation and circulation done at the top of
the drillstring, on a motor that moves along the derrick:
position
of derrick
conventional - derrick is vertical; slant - derrick is at an angle
