The snow tunnel submarine skyscraper

This is a photo of the top of the skyscraper.

The skyscraper is made of ice and is contained in a glacier. It is a bit like a giant igloo.

At the top is an old US navy submarine that has been placed at the top of the skyscraper. This is the penthouse.

The glacier had to be melted at first to get the submarine in then frozen again. Then a crack team of ice carving specialist people carved the 30 floor Ice skyscraper.

You don't require a fridge or a freezer in this resort.

It has an indoor ski resort.

A group of Eskimos has hired a floor in case of global warming. They will be able to have a floor to remind them what might one day be the old days. I suppose you could say that this is selling ice to the eskimos, but in an honest way.

It has been described as ice cool by rap and rock music celebrities.

It is one of the few skyscraper structures where you enter at the top.

Aspen is the largest city and county seat of Pitkin County, Colorado.

In Aspen a new skyscraper has opened in a glacier in the ski resort town.

A Polar bear pack roams to top of the skyscraper. They are often given rubbish to eat. Yet the staff say this should not be encouraged.

Founded as a mining camp in the Colorado Silver Boom and named because of the abundance of aspen trees in the area, the city is now a ski resort and cultural center. Aspen's main and only airport is Aspen-Pitkin County Airport also known as Sardy Field. The airport has one runway at a length of 8,500 ft.
