Highland Monster

In this game, you are touring parts of the Scottish Highlands. The basis of the game, is to copy the dream most people have, of feeling they are being chased after for some unknown reason. Except in this version you know what is chasing you, The aim is to get away from the monster, and escape, by choosing the right moves, though sometimes many moves will be right. There are pictures in it, to make it more interesting, and some other things. The most basic primeval fear has a game.

In this game you can be only a dozen or so, moves from victory, and 1 move from defeat.

So this is how the game starts. You climb to the top of Ben Nevis on a sunny day. And look out across the view. From this snow capped position, You see lochs, and forests, and grey peaks, and villages below, you. Then when you come down again, you decide to head north, to do some fishing in a lake. So far you have visited Inverness, and Ben Nevism, and Loch Ness, but you are heading up to the north again, to use a loch somebody said had some great fishing.

It also has a legend around it, that a kelpie or Each Uisge, or just a Yeti like creature resides in this loch. This loch is near Loch Maree, and more remote than it. So remote that the name Kelpie Loch, is the name it has.

You travel to the nearest road to this loch, then decide to use your normal car to drive 6km, along a old road, from a old logging enterprise the Forestry bodies did, that went wrong, as of environmental concerns, that the map says has now been allowed to go to ruin, but which you feel could be useful, even if nobody else ever uses it, as you feel your car is good enough, even if it is old. Till you reach a boulder in the road, caused by a landslide of 18 years ago. Then treck 1km to the end of the road, then 3 km to the nearest part of the waterside, leaving some stuff back in your car.

This is the Highland Valley road, towards where you are going.

The narrow part of the Loch, you reach

When you reach here, you start fishing with your rod. You fail to catch any fish, and see in the book you have, legends of Scotland, that this part of the area has not got good fishing.

So you decide then to read about the legend. It says that according to the myth, in 16thC one Kelpies said to have stolen people into the waters. With the legend of this monster that can change from a horse, to a man, to many things. But the legend states that from the 1920s only a Yeti like creature were seen in the legends, with some unexplained dissapearances being said to have been from the Monster. The legends state that this beast is able to chase people long distances, and can of course kill them.

So you are sitting here, and look at the legends. You are sitting outside your tent, and have left your mobile phone in it, right at the back. You see that where you are is where the Monster is said to come out at night, but only, or especially the legend is unsure, on Moonlit nights. But most people say this is just a legend. In legend it rises up from the loch and then begins to pick up pace towards it's target.

Anyway, so you are sitting here on this Moonlit night, it quite dark, and it gets darker, as the clouds cover the stars and Moon, but then a strong wind blows, which puts out your fire. Everything goes dark, but just for a few seconds on this black night, as then a single flash of lightening occurs, the first you have heard in months, then the clouds quickly blow away from the Moon, and in front of it you see what looks like a witch on a brromstick flying past it. Then the sky goes a dark blue, so it is possible to see all the silohuettes of the fields, and areas around. Then you see 100 metres in the distance the water bubbling, and out coming a figure, you can see in what seems to know be very light moonlit. It starts yelling, as it rises.

Do you wait, to see what the figure, is,

Or start the running away, you could look round and see what it is, while you are running away.
