Hotels in the city of San Diego in California are often required for accommodation in the city. Some tourists may want hotels that have good prices and have good views. They may want hotels that have access to the coast. They may want hotels that have high reputations. They may want hotels that have good transport access. Some may want hotels that are close to the tourist attractions they want to have a hotel in a specific part of the city. Some visitors may want to see the landmarks of the city.
San Diego is a coastal Southern California city located in the southwestern corner of the continental United States.
The city of San Diego itself has deep canyons separating its mesas, creating small pockets of natural parkland scattered throughout the city. The same canyons give parts of the city a highly segmented feel, creating literal gaps between otherwise proximal neighborhoods and contributing to a low density, car centered built environment. Downtown San Diego is located on San Diego Bay. Balboa Park lies on a mesa to the northeast. It is surrounded by several dense urban communities and abruptly ends in Hillcrest to the north. The Coronado and Point Loma peninsulas separate San Diego Bay from the ocean. Ocean Beach is on the west side of Point Loma. Mission Beach and Pacific Beach lie between the ocean and Mission Bay, a man made aquatic park. La Jolla, an affluent community, lies north of Pacific Beach. Mountains rise to the east of the city, and beyond the mountains are desert areas. Cleveland National Forest is a half hour drive from downtown San Diego. Numerous farms are found in the valleys northeast and southeast of the city. San Diego County has one of the highest counts of animal and plant species that appear on the endangered species list among counties in the USA.
Coronado is a peninsula connected to the mainland by a 10 mi narrow strip of land called the Silver Strand (or, locally, The Strand.) Locals often refer to Coronado as The Island or Coronado Island and they denote the core living and business area as The Village. The military base is called North Island. Coronado is home to the famous Hotel del Coronado, built in 1888 and long considered one of the world's top resorts. It is listed as a National Historic Landmark and appeared in films such as Some Like It Hot and The Stunt Man, and was the setting of the Dashboard Confessional song Stolen.
Pacific Beach is a neighborhood of San Diego, bounded by La Jolla to the north, Mission Beach to the south, Interstate 5 and Clairemont to the east, and the Pacific Ocean to the west. While largely populated by surfers and college students, the population is becoming more professional and affluent, due to rising property and rental costs.

Ocean Beach is located in San Diego on the Southern California coast. It is approximately 7 miles from Downtown San Diego. O.B. is south of Mission Bay and Mission Beach and west of downtown on the Pacific Ocean at the western terminus of Interstate 8. The O.B. community planning area is bounded on the north by the San Diego River, on the west by the Pacific Ocean, on the east by Froude St, Seaside St and West Point Loma Boulevard, and on the south by Adair Street. However interpretations of neighborhood lines vary from OBecian to OBecian.
