Al Qassim Province (also spelled Al Qaseem, Al Qasim, or Qassim) is one of the thirteen administrative provinces of Saudi Arabia. Located at the heart of the country, and almost in the center of the Arabian Peninsula. It is known to be the "alimental basket" of the country, for its agricultural asset. It has more than 400 cities, towns, villages, and Bedouin settlements, Ten of which are recognized as governorates. The governor of the province is prince Faisal Bin Bandar Al Saud. The Al Qassim province is divided by the Wadi Al Rumma (Rumma Valley). The valley crosses all of the region from the west to the northeast. It is the longest valley in the whole Arabian peninsula, it stretches for about 600 km (370 miles) from near Medina, to the Thuayrat Dunes in the east, and northeast of the region. The land's height in Qassim is about 600-750 meters above sea level, and it is gliding from west to east in general.
Along with tourism, agriculture is still the cornerstone of the region's economy. Although the region has been famous for its agricultural asset for a long time, it wasn't until recently that the wheat production has been introduced to the local agricultural industry, making Saudi Arabia a net exporter of cereal. The region also produces dates, grapes, lemons, grapefruits, mandarin oranges, oranges, pomegranates, and a large group of vegetables.
Buraydah or Buraidah is the capital of Al-Qassim Province in northcentral Saudi Arabia in the heart of the Arabian peninsula. Buraydah lies equidistant from the Red Sea to the west and the Persian Gulf to the east. Buraydah, the regional capital of Al-Qassim Province, is located on the edge of the Wadi Al-Rummah. Wadi Al-Rummah is the longest wadi in the Kingdom, stretching some 772 miles from near Madinah to the Al-Thuwairat sands. Buraydah has a typical desert climate, with hot summers, cold winters and low humidity. In Buraydah, agriculture is still the cornerstone of the economy. The traditional oasis products of dates, lemon, orange and other fruits is still important. Modern introduction of wheat production has become so successful that Buraydah is one of the largest producers in the kingdom, important in making Saudi Arabia a net exporter of cereal

It is surrounded with sand dunes from both of its northern and western sides which are better known with their local name Al Ghamis Sands. To the north of city the Al Ghadha Woods are located. The city is governed by Khalid Al Assaf, who is refused and unaccepted by people living here. Rass has a typical Nejdi terrain, with sand dunes surrounding the town's sides, except for the western and southern sides, which are occupied with Bedouin settlements. The Wadi Al Rumma (Rumma Valley) crosses the city from its southern side to its north-eastern side. There are several numbers of middle-high plateaus, and low-high mountains surrounding the town, mainly in the southern side, which are called by locals Jebel.
