Makare Wilson started life in Fiji, but then moved to Canada's British Columbia, and Vancouver at age 10. The 6 foot 2 inch tall lady has 7 younger step siblings. She has US and Canadian citizenship and speaks, English, Fijian and French.

Makare started on the AVP in 2004, and she got 5th on 3 occasions, even with going into the qualifiers the earliest treble of events.

2005 saw her link up with Tyra Turner, this partnership got into the position of being the 4th rated team on the tour. On 2 occasions reaching semifinals, plus getting 8th 5th place results.

Wilson led the USA for blocks for her senior season when in the the University of Washington, then got labelled a 1st team, All-American.

Makare was declared in the All-Pac-10 selection, 2 times, and graduated rated 2nd in career blocks for the conference.

The Fijian born athlete also got 5th place in the Pac-10 for the high jump for 1996-97, with a 5 foot 10 jump still in time of writing of this article being 5th best in school histories. Makare also got into the U.S. National team for the seasons, 1998-2000.

She is married and has a daughter.

Her role models are Tiger Woods and Karch Kiraly, because of their hard work, and as of how they represent their selves. She likes pasta and Japanese food.
