There are many courses in the state.
Arcadia Bluffs Golf Course, Belvedere Club, Crystal Downs Country Club, Grand Haven Golf Club, Indianwood Golf and Country Club, Lochenheath, Oakland Hills Country Club, Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club
Arcadia Bluffs Golf Course The course is built on the bluffs above the shore of Lake Michigan on approximately 245 acres. The course drops 225 feet from its highest point down to the bluff, 180 feet above lake level and has 3,100 feet of lake frontage. The golf course was designed to resemble seaside Irish links, with rolling terrain and windswept natural fescues throughout.
Arcadia Bluffs is a daily-fee golf club, open to the public seven days a week, weather permitting, from mid-April to mid-November. GPS-equipped golf carts and caddies are available. Guests can enjoy a full practice range and separate short-game facility. The Restaurant at Arcadia Bluffs is open to the general public from May through September each year.
Golf Digest selected Arcadia Bluffs as one of the 100 Greatest Golf Courses in the United States in 2005. The club was ranked 10 in Americas 100 Greatest Public Courses list and #56 in the 100 Greatest Golf Courses list. In addition to the Golf Digest ranking, Golfweek magazine ranked Arcadia Bluffs at #24 in their listing of The 100 Best Courses in United States.
Belvedere Club in Charlevoix, Michigan (Northern Michigan) is a wealthy and historic summer home association and golf club.
Crystal Downs Country Club Despite being consistently ranked among the top courses in the United States (ranked 10th for 2007-08 by Golf Digest) the only tournament of note it has hosted has been the 1991 USGA Senior Amateur Championship, due to its isolated location far from population centers and the corresponding lack of sufficient facilities (lodging, transportation, infrastructure) needed to accommodate the crowds attracted by major tournament events.
Indianwood Golf and Country Club or simply "Indianwood" is a private member-only country club located in Lake Orion, Michigan. The club is approximately 35 miles north of Detroit.
Designed by Wilfred Reid in 1925, the original club features a tower entrance, 18th Century tapestries, leaded glass windows, and Knights in shining armor. The ballroom features a magnificent fireplace complete with an intricate shield carved from wood hanging over the mantel. According to historians, the club quickly became a haven for the wealthy of Detroit seeking to avoid the daily grind of the city. The club became very popular, hosting the Michigan Open in 1928, and even saw the construction of an airstrip. In 1930 the club hosted the Western Open, one of the most prestigious golf events of the time. In 1948 and 1949 it was site of the Michigan PGA Championship.
Oakland Hills Country Club, a private golf club in Bloomfield Hills, Oakland County, Michigan, has hosted many prestigious professional golf tournaments throughout its history. The Oakland Hills grounds crew maintains two courses, designated the North and South Course. The South Course has hosted all the tournaments played at Oakland Hills (one round of the 2002 U.S. Amateur was played on the North Course).
Warwick Hills Golf and Country Club is a golf course located in Grand Blanc, Michigan, a suburb of Flint, Michigan, United States. Warwick Hills is home to the Professional Golfers' Association's Buick Open Tournament. The course was opened in June 1957.
