born November 16, 1977, Vitoria, Brazil,

Mimi was a outside hitter on the indoor volleyball court, till a move into Beach Volleyball in 2004. Amarel's first games in the professional tour was located within Brazil in the years 2004-05. Then she started playing in the tour events of the AVP in 2005. Also at the start of 2005 she started to team up with her present team mate Tatiana Minello, this was while on Brazilian beaches. Her linkage with the 5 foot 6 Brazilian born in 1970, saw them reach a AVP final in the 2nd tournament they were in.

Amaral then ended 2005's season in the rank of 5th in the AVP Tour for aces reaching 84, and 5th for hitting percent so .435, then 6th for kill percent so .565.

Up to that date Mimi has won over $82,112.50, and been 2nd in AVP events twice. She has also partnered Jaimie Lee, Nancy Mason, and Paula Roca.
