A History of Papua New Guinea

And the Highlands Black blue paradise birds, collar-like wings dancing, to attract mates, Negroti's, Melanesians, actually many tribes, had their new name, But actually the many really, had their names ignored, There were many tribes, doing many things,

Some even stayed in the same places, afraid to cross, a jungle stream, Maybe creating legends about it, And also as of the neighbouring tribe being called cannibals & such by them, A bit like some cities later racial divides, & divides then, & class, or sport team,

And it is said early Aborigines in Australia, would have seen some a few times that length, About 50 feet or longer, And some kommodos that would be 30 feet that length, but then heavier than a few people, And that some would have survived into the Chinese trading era, Of the early first millennia, in some Indonesian isles,

And would have been eaten by locals, & seen by some Chinese traders, in the Flores, isle areas, But the others were quickly wiped out in Australia, And in Indonesia, maybe by the time, of the first Millennia, But were around during recorded history in China, We can't live without any race, or people in the world, Being included in some way, hopefully from 2005, Or trying to include them, I some way, unless quite impossible,

There are some monitor lizards in Malaysia, that are 1.2 metres long, That walk around they bushes, eating 3 metre long snakes, With long tails, that are dark green, & slimy, There is a yellow & black lizard in Australia that gets over 6 & a half feet, But is normally 5 foot 7, long, Eating small fish & carrion, & lizards The very long tailed type in New Guinea, Weigh about the same as most people, except when very long, And actually may weigh the same as said up there, Allegations of 30 feet long types, would be twice a person, Mesolithic New Guinea, & it's forests, swamps, It obviously had famines, of 100s deaths every region or so, every so, In there, every decade or so, or in other places, So in the next C, as of not that much safety,

There are tribes that just live in jungles, Men go around naked, with a string round the waist in the tree houses, They live in for the males, The string holding thing on it, The tree houses, look like wood timber huts, on stilts, Their are paths to each past just mud, & pools of water, in rivers,

With many having fires, & getting firewood, for their clearings, Catching wild boars as food, some offered as offerings to people to visit, Food is placed on 1 metres half metre wife jungle leaves, While being cooked, on hot stones, Women also keeping wild pigs, men keeping other, by hunting them, The long nosed, dark furry boars, unlike pigs up in Europe, With them shooting people who come near, not obeying rituals of what to do, Which saw a high murder rate, While women have leafs covering more, They have bows & arrows to shoot with,

And people enter villages through green bushes, & such on the outskirts of their villages, Families, unlike the villages of E-New Guinea, living in tree houses, Of a few men & women, & some kids, That are of dispersed hunting homesteads style, In these tree houses, that are like turret on stilts very thin on the canopy level, About 10 metres high, Rapped in straws up there, Easy to defend against headhunters from the, S, The men always having someone to be awake, To watch for battles, from the high houses, Sitting in the dark, The mist reaching above at times, I think it's white mist on the Pacific, most of the time, Especially in the N Pacific,

Many live in stilt homes, Which are surrounded by water, in floods, Or tree houses where they guard over at night, And some live in rickety roof long houses, tree houses, on tops of trees,

That are a huge 150 metres above the ground, hanging on top of a few trees, Like for the Kombai, & Korowai people, They are so high up at times, To see the birds, & to see the mountains far away, And so sorcerers, can not climb up the rope & wood ladders,

The staple food is sago palms, starch inside the tree, They use wood to get too the food inside it too, Of wood axes, that are sharpened, into a soft wood, The women wear orange leaf style skirts round their waste as their clothes, Which look a bit like the top half of small oranges, I mean top quarter, in a skirt shaper, Around the body, While kids also help the women do their hitting sago sap, & turning it to food, By hitting style job, Sometimes with axes, etc., then,

The starch inside tasting like artichokes, & opened, by cutting down the tree I mean the men cut the tree, done that looks like a fountain style tree, or palm tree, With timber, And would take a metal axe no time to cut,

And also has the starch in the middle, It is very dry a food, that takes little time, to make eatable, And also bats & locusts & lizards are eaten, caught by arrows, & the dingo dogs, There is also a small amount of fishing in tiny stream, that are added by dams, too, In some areas locally evil men, & those regarded as witches are eaten, In their only cannibals, as well as some other societies in other isles, Which hunt at eat people, as part of food, if they are in other tribes, But they are a minority, The whites, must be killed then eaten, About restoring balance,

The cannibalism, when in 1960s, missionaries set up missions, Saw the other couple of thousands, Outside their area continue doing this cannibalism, As part of violence & retribution,

From their brown inside huts & brown floors, With some still in that age having records of killing a few, And just totally OK about that, They go to the sago palm a few month safer & eat the worms, & maggots, Which they also use to clean out ear wax, With men laughing moving arms about while doing it, And able to catch small 10 cm high pink & grey boars, Too 20 cm high pregnant prize catches, Ethnographers laugh & joke with them in later years, as this, And see they smoke, Other tribes are angry when the do not visit them too, With rings in their nostrils, & feather head dresses, Just like you find in Papua, And I mention later, except in village, more organised cultures,

Here the tribes do not cross boundaries, as they fear they are entering other families, And the big fear is those areas where none live, where spirits live, Their are pigs tooth laden necklaces, And the strings that help light fires,

Apparently unlike most tribes in New Guinea they try to invert their penises, up their body, Which is impossible for people not born in the culture, The smoking in typical ways, & people laughing & talking like in British personas, And singing around the tree house fire, And seeing the blue flames of the fire,

Above the bluing night sky, & noisy insects, that cameo noise at other times, And sometimes birds adding to the rhythm, Here pink domestic pigs are also shot & run around after hit by arrows, Then are found, after dying there, While wild boars seem to have less floppy legs, that are sticky, That are shot for food, too, & also squeal, running around when hit, With in some of these areas, some flying snakes, that jump of trees & flatten out a bit, Also in New Guinea is the third tallest bird on Earth after ostriches, & emus, Of which the others are now gone, A cassowary, they can weigh half a person, & are up to 6 foot,

They have blue heads, & have fat bodies, They look like ostriches but are fatter & black, & red with blue head, The red is the neck, & lay blue eggs, Unlike the white & creamy or speckled of many birds, so they vary too, though, And they walk through the jungle, & on grass, Also in New Guinea there are those pitcher plants as I said, Somewhere else maybe that see, Their flowers trap insects in water, As a fertiliser,

Also a place where ants live, very large plants, Whose feet are filled with ant holes, & are natural ant homes, With at times frogs & lizards living inside the living plants, With sago plants littering many places, With some tribes, having woven vests that hide against spears,

And some make fly swats, made of birds, feathers fabric & wire, It also has the largest pigeons, Which have flowery hats of blue, on their blue & red bodies, That looks like daisies of black & blue, Reaching almost 3 feet high, over 3 times the size of most pigeons,

There are also small yellow & brown birds that look like tits, They also bring in the jungle, yellow things, shells, & more to possible mates, Some standing their gold & black, in dark wet forests, They place them inside small haystacks, that lie on the ground, that they create as nests,

In this area, there are also a pygmy parrot, that is green & twice as thick as a thumb, Good at climbing, And also a pheasant pigeon, that sits on trees that looks like a cross between them, In Africa there is a goat half the size of normal, smaller in height than the highest pigeon, And also bald a man, In New Guinea, there is also the singing dog,

Which is a half fox, half dingo creature, that barks, in a long song, for ages, interesting, And also a species called the crocodile skink, That is a small lizard with a huge crocodile head, And other normal skinks, that just look like snakes, with legs, some camouflaged,

Brits from 1793-1884, took the SE, via Port Moresby, With many valleys set up on rivers near straw houses, And also wood temples for spirits, Isles' tribes have port markets, Which sold birds, alive & dead, small & medium, And tortoise shells for Javanese medicines, And slaves farmed vegetables, Before the Brits or other Europeans arrived, With myths about tribes on the mainland, or such,

Germany took the N. from 1884, & isles like Bougainville, & New Britain, and New Ireland, Some coconut plantations, See 28% of conscripted tribes members die annually in 1883-1903, There is a 10die revolt in 1904, against railways ways, there,

On New Ireland, there is a group of people, who can call sharks, Certain men can call them, And when the sharks rise they spear them, some of which are 6 feet long, With coconuts rattled in a net attracting them up, too, below the sea are flattened out shark, which are shaped like stars, Burying themselves in mud, they get to 5 feet long, and 6 feet in Japan, Lunging up to reach prey, sometimes biting people, They also have a unusual culture, With some similarities to the mainland, Such as how pigs are valuable, In this place I do not know if elsewhere, they are used to pay carvers,

Like carvers, of figurine African style pieces, And hornbill mouthpieces, held in some dancers mouths, And some helmet masks, Which are made of bark cloth and feathers, and have motorbike helmet size, With the top of the helmet orange with feathers,

And are patterned in colours and have animals coming out of the mouths, With shields, that have painted large faces on them, These are all used in funeral events for sometimes many people, Some paddle canoes out to smaller isles, like Pacific cultures, or Amazon, The shark practice has gone on since before 1642, It is for food, and tied to the animist and later Christian faith,

Added to this in the 1880s 300 Italians died in a colonial project, That tried settling the island, Where they then left, This land of people playing kazoos, New Britain had similar New Guinea people, Including the wig men, Hulis, Who fought over land, women and pigs, They often have inside their huts, arrows, Some have arrows, for hunting, people, pigs, and paradise birds, Some are covered in dried blood, and to be used later,

The men spend hours preparing wigs, And painting their faces yellow or white, They copy the bird of paradise dance, in celebrations, together, Growing their hair long for this purpose,

It takes years to create their wigs, Men like some Native American tribes, go into the remotes for months, Hunting, and such to prove they are men, Some Native tribes did this There are 800 languages on this isle, With lots of other tribes, The tribe in 2006, have given up cannibalism, But still fight, rival tribes, Over minor disputes, If they did not, then they would have to surrender to neighbours, And were adopting modern clothes, among many of the people, and stuff, and plastic bags,

Another tribe are the Asaro mudmen, Who cover themselves in white mud, Then run around with spears, They wear cybermen style white mud helmets, that is robot style helmets, for those, Who do not know what cybermen, are, of light grey,

So they look like they are human faces these mud helmets of another species, The isles are each very much like New Guinea, The mudmen helmets have through the paper mache style noses, A straw just like them, Some have smiling faces, and some frowns, Sometimes fighting battles in their costumes, Not like hillforts today or crannogs being kept up as real, By experimental ways as is cool, and good enough for me, But real imitators of alien species, so Earth beats Lord of The Rings, And can history re-enactment be real, Yes as if somebody played a game pretending to be us, That would be real for them, and copying us, So yes it can be, After all we all sometimes feel life is pointless just like video games,

There are also some isles that Britain, took to the SE, The isles include a isle where the women, wear fruits around their naked bodies, And where they tattoo themselves, and wear red grass skirts, With male dancers, holding long things behind them as they dance,

Also in Irian Jaya, are pygmy parrots the size almost of 2 thumbs, That are green, & climb allot, And in Africa, some areas with goats half the height of normal, There are also pheasants pigeons, that are a cross between them, That sit on trees, In 2006 again as occurs every so often in Brazil; and here, and Borneo, Small animals were again discovered, Including new types of frogs and birds of paradise, and birds, So there were still parts of the Globe with undiscovered elements,
