The Shire of Noosa was a Local Government Area located about 130 kilometres north of Brisbane in the Sunshine Coast region of South East Queensland, Australia. The shire covered an area of 868.7 square kilometres, and existed as a local government entity from 1910 until 2008, when it amalgamated with the Shire of Maroochy and City of Caloundra to become the Sunshine Coast Regional Council.

The Noosa Festival of Surfing was established in 1992 at Noosa, Queensland by members of the Noosa Malibu Club, as an amateur surfing competition called the Noosa Malibu Classic. It allowed club members to invite friends to surf Noosa's right hand point breaks and the event's popularity among competitive longboarders gave the club a chance to take the event to a higher level.
Noosa
is a national park in Queensland (Australia), 121 km north of Brisbane.
An oceanway boardwalk connects from the Noosa River mouth along Hastings Street town centre and then out around the Noosa National Park beaches to Sunshine Beach. During peak seasons free public transport also runs do encourage even more people to choose sustainable behaviours.
The Sunshine Coast (population 290,645 with up to an additional 50,000 in visitors and seasonal workers) is a coastal region located in South East Queensland, north of the Queensland capital of Brisbane. The Sunshine Coast has recently been united into a single Local Government Area, the Sunshine Coast Regional Council.
The Sunshine Coast is bordered by the Pacific Ocean in the east, and extends to the local government boundaries beyond the Blackall Range to the west. Occasionally, the towns of Gympie, which is 30 minutes' drive north of Noosa Heads, and Caboolture, 30 mins drive south of Caloundra, have been included in a broader definition of the Sunshine Coast region.
The Sunshine Coast is a centre for tourism, containing attractions such as Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo, UnderWater World marine park, Aussie World with the Ettamogah Pub, The Buderim Ginger Factory, Big Pineapple and the Majestic Theatre.

The region is characterized by beautiful beaches, expansive coastal views and rich fertile soils in the hinterland. Many World and Australian-renowned beaches are located at Noosa Heads, Alexandra Headland, Mooloolaba, Coolum and Kings Beach in Caloundra. There are popular surfing areas along the beaches and headlands.
