The World Polo Tour (WPT) a group that tries to rank international Players, as well as lisrt the major trophies from the big 3 to the other national opens.

The idea was motviated from a desire by players and managers, to create a circuit that reflects the polo world.

Rankings are based on performances in each tournament,

The status of a tournament is vital ofcourse. Status of a trounament can depend on handicap of the tournament, the organization, teams entered, level of players participating.

There are four levels of tournaments Challenger, Cup, Masters and Grand Slam, Master Series.

The tournaments are reviewed each year to reflect the reality of the sport Circuit.

In their view the 3 major agrntinian trophies the Argentine Polo Open, Hurlingham Polo Open, and the Tortugas C.C. Open are all Master Series.

While the United States Polo Open and the British Polo Open are Grand Slam.

While the Queen's Cup Polo, CV Whitney Cup Polo, USPA Gold Cup Polo are all Masters level. So the rank system can also be used to measure the status of each tournament.
