Rao Raja Hanut Singh was a notable polo player from India and recipient of Padma Bhushan award.
He was born in 1900 in Idar and was third son of Pertab Singh of Jodhpur .He was married to daughter of Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II of Jaipur. He married later to Rani Priya Devi daughter of Maharaja of Sirmur.
He was an outstanding polo player of his time and played many games for princely state of Jodhpur. Later he fielded his own team as Ratanada team.
In 1922, Jodhpur won a famous match as they scored in the last minute to win against Patiala in Delhi to be champions of India. A crowd of 150,000, which included the future King, the Viceroy, and fifty Maharajas, watched. The Jodhpur Team included Rao Raja Hanut Singh .
He was awarded Padma Bhushan in 1958 for his achievement and contribution to the game of polo.
He died in 1982.
