Alison Marie Bales is the daughter of Charles Bales and Dr. Mary McCarthy. She has one sister, Sarah, and a couple of twin brothers.
She was born 21 inches long weighing 10 pounds 11 ounces.
Her father, Charles, played American football at TCU from 1965-69 and lettered in 1967-68, majoring in cultural anthropology.
She attended Beavercreek
High School, she also played in a WBCA High School All-America game.
Also played at the McDonald’s All-America game where this towering lady had 9 blocks, 4 points and 7 rebounds
Ohio Player of the Year and first team AP All-State as a senior
2002 third team Parade All-America
Attaended Nike All-America camp in 2001 and 2002
Even at that time she was a 6 foot 5 High School Pupil, who was very proud of her height. Where she wore size 16 men's basketball shoes.
And had 38 inch inseam trousers, which is longer than me from waist to floor. her nickname in school was big al.
In 2003 She joined the Dukes, at Duke University which is a private coeducational research university located in Durham, North Carolina, USA.
In her first season she was in 24 games, despite her big legs recovering from a knee injury, in that season she averaged 3.3 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.2 blocks and 0.5 assists and 29 blocks, the fifth-best freshman stat in Duke history. In her debut, she got 5 points.
In 2004 - 2005 became a dominating blocker, named in All-ACC Defensive Team, and got 134 blocks in 36 games, averaged 7.7 points, 6.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists , sixth in nation in blocks per game.
In 2005-2006 got NCAA Final Four All-Tournament and Bridgeport Regional MVP honors, in 35 games, got 120 blocks to be 2nd in Duke & ACC single-season charts, averaged 9.1 points, 6.7 rebounds, 3.4 blocks, 1.2 steals and 1.1 assists.
I started looking at the internet more in 2002 I think, and saw her on the internet in maybe 2003 or 2004, where forums, have mentioned her since she was a teenager, amazed from basketball rosters and newspaper articles at how tall she was. Recently they say it is intresting how she has got even taller, and slimmer. And also looks more prety and glamourous, she wears stiletoes.

She also maybe terrifying is clever, with a grades allot in school.
Her father is 6 foot 3 and mother 5 foot 11, and other siblings tall.
Intresting fact, when she was 15 she helped her team win a basketball match by over 30 points a player turned and ran into her then fall back, as she ran into her stomach face to belly.

Member of 2002 Youth Development Festival North Team, in undefeated
5 games.
Averaged 5.4 ppg. 6.4 rpg. and 1.0 bpg. in 18.2 minutes a game.
Blocked a Festival third best (tie) five shots.
Also likes volleyball and football
She said she was not the most popular person in high school, but was in basketball, there, she is a incredible woman, and also apparently articulate.
