Adventure in Scotland

So Malcolm Mackenzie works in a croft a dozen miles west of Inverness, in 1545. Then he is chosen to be in a monastery, very young, recieving a education and food. He learns Gaelic, English and French, then is good at riding horses and goes on messages, and washes robes, till he grows up. He wants to become a bishop[ and visit Rome. The Chief of THE Mackenzies, a brutal tyrant dies, and stops fundibngm, THE next chief is better, but still oppressive, but withdraws, funding, So he is fired, at 16. Then he decides, to go to other places. he feels exited and free. he plans to go to Edinburgh and use his skills, there, along THE way he drinks alcohol for THE first time, which he finds horrible, then goes to Aberdeen, he buys clothes and stuff along THE way, with coins he was givem, He does a few lucky jobs he finds. But dislikes them, and is not paid much. He pays some coins to cross the River Spey, he asks dierections, on THE high greens moors, Aberdeen has 4000 people. and has exotic foods from across THE North Sea, and unusual fish for him. he passes a storm which saturates him, he gets married along the way, as someone is married off to him. He passes on his horse, tiny cottages, and huts, and small farmsteads, of very small huts, that are made of wood, where most people live.

He rides into Scotland's second largest city Dundee. before being married it also has 4000 people. He sees THE cathdral in Arbroath along earlier ways. He enters THE Engl;ish speaking area of Scotland and can undertsna,d It's only 2 years sinve John Knox's teachings ousted Ctaholisism, and installed Protestantism, and a few since Scotland stopped French and English plans at domination, including massacres of fellow Scots by Henry VIII's army in the borders.

In Edinburgh he gets to be a market trader, and begins to grow in money, trading to Falkirk, and other places, even visiting England for tarding at timesd, using his mat5hs, to do well with mon

He sees all THE actions of Mary Queen of Scots in soon times, and her seen to be rude actions in governm,ent, which see her eousted by the Protestants,a nd other He has kids, people, and new rulers installed. leading while James VI is there. He avoids being robbed in the area East of Edinburgh 2year later. riding off rom them, Her helps fight in some battles helping with his own money to fight with a gubn, to help retake Edinburgjh off Kirkaldy of Grange. when he took it for a while, with a huge army, he does little. he finds that some mercenaries lived there for a while, when occupying with the fellow he feels is an imposter. He pays for his kids to go to univesity and sees every so oftenm him unabvle to go into THE stone centre of Edinburgjh as of riots by poorer classes, against low amounts of food, and mercahnts liek him.

At very old age he sees James VI install srfdom, ion beggars, which he says is bad, he also passes in his life famine conditiosn which he survives as of having plenty of food. He opposes the union of THE crowns, as feels it will reduce Scottish independence .
