Michelle Alves was born in Londrina, Brazil, the daughter of a lawyer (mother) & an engineer (father). She did not think about becoming a model, early on. Alves was a top student in civil engineering at Brazil's Londrina State University prior to moving to São Paulo, where she pursued modeling. She is featured in the 2003 & 2005 editions of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue & is presently contracted by Valentino & Christian Dior. She has also appeared in the 2003 Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, & in the Victoria's

She is an avid reader & self-described "nerd". She is also a polyglot, fluent in Portuguese, Italian, French & English.

She journeyed to France, later Japan, & Europe as of her great looks. In Australia, she acted in a commercial. Aftyer netering the New York fashion industry, sbhe got more world wide attention, becoming one of the best known models from Brazil. Some have called her the body, like some say about Elle Macpherson.
