Born June 20, 1982, in Costa Mesa, California,
April Ross has one sister, and was born in Costa Mesa. She was able to play in every match for her USC career, leading her team for kills & pts for every year she competed there. Ross managed added to this to lead for digs to the begining of a libero of 2002. April got the official label National Freshman for the year, with added to this a award of being a 1st team all Pac 10 for four volleyball champpionships in a row. Ross got placed as a 2nd team AVCA All-American when she was a freshman, and also a 1st team when a senior & junior. She helped lead her side towards 2 in a row NCAA Championships for 2002-03, then was also a conference's Player of the Year for 03 in her senior year. Adding to this she accomplished a collection of 2 academic all Pac 10 honors.
Ross was 1999's Gatorade Circle of Champions National Player of the Year. She was also a "Fab 50" select player, and a honor roll student for all of her 4 college years. She also has a very good record in track and field and basketball from college, which has got her some good awards.
2000-2001 saw her enter
into the USA Junior National Team, and 2002 saw her enter the USA A2 Women's National
Phase 1 Team, 2003 the Women's National Team. She has partnered Keao Burdine,
Jennifer Boss, Nancy Mason and Barbra Fontana
