car rental wales car rental Wales is a great idea, as Wales had loads of places to rent cars, we rented cars in Wales, once as our old yellow Austin Maestro was not strong enough to go to Scotland, so we hired a newer car, we then got a new car later. We also hired one, when we left that Maestro in Scotland we went down to Wales, and hired a car on a holiday in WEales trabvelling from a holiday home in Lixwm, and we saw high US style yellow grass, like Ohio wheat fields, I was only about 7 so nmaybe it was just nromal grass aside the house. Car Rental firms exist across Wales that you can use. In Cardiff, to Newpoet, to Swansea, to Fishguard too Holyhead, to Wrexham. Maybe ford excorts, Vauxhall Astras, Cauxhalls, and Nissans are on offer.
used cars in wales
There are many places to buy used cars in Wales. I bought a used car in Wales, I bought one in Mochdre, a Blue Nissan Micra, I think it was the best deal I ever made, even if the left door unbeknownst to me was blasted as evidence of a earlier bank in, and the sopeare tyre was to old, I bought it for 1300 or 1400 Pounds, in what was it, 2004. I fellow I know passed his driving test on the day of September 11th 2001, in Bala, he came back and saw the twin towers falling on TV, his first day at his present job, was the day of the terror attacks in Bali, the last time he want on a bus was the day of the Spanish terror attacks, phewww, what relief he said, able to go in a cram, not go by bus, his name was Jones I think, anyway he drives a red Maestro, There are many used car dealers in Wales, in most towns, you can see which one you think is best get a ghood know how, used car dealers worldwide often disguise faults, like a bad tyre or whatever, or you needing a new fuel gauguye etc etc, so you need to be wary, and look for a bargain, maybe on those big car supermarkets but they may have the same tricksa, I thought I would have to spend 4 grand for a good second hand car , only 1300, wow, what a deal, and it still goes up hills well, 6 years later, today in 2008,. and drives well, werll the guy told me, the coincidence for the other famed terror attacks, well the London one, which Ken Livingstone reacted to in a great way, a great mayor, well, he was in a car, and did not go in a bus anymore, so I remember the terrorists according to some papers, did some training in a place in North Wales, near where the guy passed his driving test, aaaarghhh, well thats life, filled with bizzarre coincidences, well the guy do not live in North Wales now, he moved to Manchesterm, but coincidences are just that, no meaning just coincidences,

peninsula in central-west Great Britain.
The entire area of Wales is about 20,779 km² (8,023 square miles). The country
is about 274 km (170 miles) long and 97 km (60 miles) wide. Wales borders England
to the east and the sea in the other three directions: the Bristol Channel to
the south, St George's Channel to the west, and the Irish Sea to the north. Wales
has over 1,200 km (750 miles) of coastline. There are several islands off the
Welsh mainland, the largest being Anglesey in the northwest.
Topography Much of Wales's landscape is mountainous, particularly in Snowdonia and the central Cambrian Mountains. The mountains were shaped during the last ice age, the Devensian glaciation. The highest mountains in Wales are in Snowdonia, and include Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa in Welsh), which, at 1,085 m (3,560 ft) is the highest peak in Wales. The 14 (or possibly 15) Welsh mountains over 3,000 feet (914 m) high are known collectively as the Welsh 3000s. The Brecon Beacons are in the south and are joined by the Cambrian Mountains in Mid Wales, the latter name being given to the earliest geological period of the Paleozoic era, the Cambrian. In the mid 19th century, two prominent geologists, Roderick Murchison and Adam Sedgwick used their studies of the geology of Wales to establish certain principles of stratigraphy and palaeontology. After much dispute, the next two periods of the Paleozoic era, the Ordovician and Silurian, were named after ancient Celtic tribes from this area. The modern border between Wales and England is highly arbitrary; it was largely defined by the Laws in Wales Acts 1535-1542, based on mediæval feudal boundaries. It has apparently never been confirmed by referendum or reviewed by any Boundary Commission (except to confirm Monmouthshire as part of Wales in 1968). The boundary line very roughly follows Offa's Dyke from south to north as far as a point about 40 miles from the northern coast, but then swings further east. The boundary separates Knighton from its railway station, virtually cuts off Church Stoke from the rest of Wales, and slices straight through the village of Llanymynech (where a pub actually straddles the line). Wales is divided into 22 unitary authorities, which are responsible for the provision of all local government services, including education, social work, environment and roads services. Below these in some areas there are community councils, which cover specific areas within a council area. The unitary authority areas are known as the principal areas of Wales. The Queen appoints a Lord Lieutenant to represent her in the eight Preserved counties of Wales.The main population and industrial areas are in South Wales, including the cities of Cardiff, Swansea and Newport and the South Wales Valleys. There are five cities in total in Wales - in addition to the three unitary authorities with City status, the communities of Bangor and St David's also have the status. * Bangor * Cardiff * Newport * St David's * Swansea
Landmarks The Seven Wonders of Wales is a traditional list of seven geographic and cultural landmarks in Wales: Snowdon (the highest mountain), the Gresford bells (the peal of bells in the medieval church of All Saints at Gresford), the Llangollen bridge (built in 1347 over the River Dee), St Winefride's Well (a pilgrimage site at Holywell in Flintshire) the Wrexham steeple (16th century tower of St. Giles Church in Wrexham), the Overton yew trees (ancient yew trees in the churchyard of St Mary's at Overton-on-Dee) and Pistyll Rhaeadr (Wales's tallest waterfall, at 240 ft or 75 m). The wonders are part of the traditional rhyme:
Pistyll Rhaeadr and Wrexham steeple,
Snowdon's mountain without its people,
Overton yew trees, St Winefride wells,
Llangollen bridge and Gresford bells.

On average, Wales is cloudier than England, because of the hilly nature of the terrain and the proximity to the Atlantic. Rainfall in Wales varies widely, with the highest average annual totals in Snowdonia and the Brecon Beacons, and the lowest in the east, close to the English border. Throughout Wales, the months from October to January are significantly wetter than those between February and September. Snow is comparatively rare near sea level in Wales, but much more frequent over the hills. The average number of days each year when sleet or snow falls in Wales varies from about 10 or less in some south-western coastal areas to over 40 in Snowdonia.
National Parks
Wales has three designated national parks:
* Brecon Beacons, in the southeast of Wales
* Pembrokeshire
Coast National Park, along the Pembrokeshire coast
* Snowdonia National Park
in the Snowdonia region of northwest Wales
Waterfalls
Wales has many waterfalls, including some of the most striking waterfalls of the United Kingdom. The highest and most famous waterfall in Wales is Pistyll Rhaeadr at 240 ft (75 m). The name of the falls is Welsh for "spring of the waterfall" and is located near the village of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant. The waterfall is formed by the Afon Disgynfa river, passing over a Silurian cliff. At the end of the falls, the river continues and is known as the Afon Rhaeadr. The falls are counted as one of the Seven Wonders of Wales and are designated as the 1000th Site of Special Scientific Interest by the Countryside Council for Wales, for its importance to Welsh geomorphology. The 19th century English author George Borrow remarked of the waterfall, "I never saw water falling so gracefully, so much like thin, beautiful threads, as here."
Other waterfalls include Aber Falls (Welsh: Rhaeadr Fawr, "big waterfall") at Abergwyngregyn, the Rhaeadr Cynfal falls in Ffestiniog (including Rhaeadr Y Cwm) and Pistyll Blaen Y Cwm in the Marilyn Rhialgwm of the upper Tanat Valley; and in the south, Sgwd Henrhyd near Coelbren, Melincourt falls in Resolven, and several in a small area in the south of the Brecon Beacons National Park.
Lakes
The largest natural lake in Wales is Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake). Llangorse Lake is second largest.
) is one of the countries making up the United Kingdom. Covering an area of 20,000 km2 (8000 square miles), Wales has 3 million inhabitants, 20% of whom can speak Cymraeg (Welsh).
Wales has been a principality of England since the Act of Union in 1536, although the Welsh Assembly sitting in Cardiff, created in 1998, is elected by the Welsh people. The Prince of Wales is a title given by the reigning British monarch to his or her eldest son, but in modern times the Prince does not live in Wales or have anything to do with its administration or government, although he visits frequently. Prince Charles is the first Prince of Wales since medieval times to be able to speak the Welsh language.
Parts of Wales have been heavily industrialised since the eighteenth century. Coal, copper and gold have been mined in Wales, and slate has been quarried. Ironworks and tinplate works, along with the coal mines, attracted large numbers of immigrants during the nineteenth century, particularly to the valleys north of Cardiff, which is now the capital city.
The patron saint of Wales is Saint David, and the Welsh flag depicts a red dragon on a green and white field. The national emblems are the leek, a relative of the onion, and the daffodil. St David's Day is celebrated throughout Wales on March 1st.
The Romans gave Wales the name of Cambria, and established a string of forts across the southern part of the country, as far west as Carmarthen (Maridunum). There is evidence that they progressed even further west and crossed to Ireland from here. They also built the legionary fortress at Caerleon (Isca), whose magnificent amphitheatre is the best preserved in Britain. The Romans were also busy in north Wales, and an old legend claims that Magnus Maximus, one of the last emperors, married Elen or Helen, the daughter of a Welsh chieftain from Segontium, near present-day Caernarfon.
Wales was never conquered by the Saxons, due to its mountainous terrain and ample amounts of rain. A Saxon king, Offa of Mercia, is credited with having constructed a great earth wall, or dyke, along the border with his kingdom, to keep out the marauding Welsh. Parts of Offa's Dyke can still be seen today.
Wales continued to be a Christian country when its neighbour, England, was overrun by Scandinavian tribes. Thus, St David went on a pilgrimage to Rome during the 6th century, and was serving as a bishop in Wales well before Augustine arrived to convert the king of Kent and founded the diocese of Canterbury. Although the Druidic religion is alleged to have had its stronghold in Wales until the Roman invasion, many of the so-called traditions, such as the gorsedd or assembly of bards, were the invention of eighteenth-century "historians". The traditional women's Welsh costume, incorporating a tall black hat, was not recorded until the nineteenth century.
The Norman conquest of Wales did not take place in 1066, when England was conquered, but was gradual, not being complete until 1282, when King Edward I of England defeated the last independent prince in battle. He then oppreessed the Welsh people. Edward constructed a series of stone castles in order to keep the Welsh under control. The best known are at Caernarfon, Conway and Harlech.
