Commerce Bank is the name of several unrelated banks in the United States, including:
* TD Bank, N.A., based in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Operated as Commerce Bank in
the Mid-Atlantic, Connecticut, and Florida prior to 2008 acquision by Toronto
Dominion Banknorth.
* Metro Bancorp Inc., Formerly Pennsylvania Commerce Bancorp,
Inc. based in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania has been in operation since 1985. It change
the bank it operates to Metro Bank from Commerce Bank/Harrisburg do to the expiration
of a franchise agreement with he former Commerce Bancorp. They have 33 stores
(Branches) located in Berks, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon and York
counties. Although independent they shared a customer call center with New Jersey
based Commerce Bancorp.
* Commerce National Bank, Columbus, Ohio based business
bank
* Commerce Bancshares, based in Kansas City, Missouri, which does business
as Commerce Bank in Missouri, Kansas, Illinois, Colorado and Oklahoma.
* Commerce
Bank & Trust Holding Company, based in Topeka, Kansas, changed the name of
the bank it owned from Commerce Bank & Trust to CoreFirst Bank & Trust
on September 4, 2007 to reduce confusion between it and the bank held by Commerce
Bancshares.
* Commerce Bank & Trust Company, based in Worcester, Massachusetts,
which conducts business in central Massachusetts. Commerce Bancorp was a Cherry
Hill, New Jersey–based bank created in 1973. In 2007, it was purchased by
Toronto-Dominion Bank to form TD Bank, N.A. and merged TD Banknorth into TD Bank;
all of its banks and branches were given the TD Bank logo.
