A joke

A conspiracy in World football post 1945, actually Scottish football
So OK I do like to believe in some conspiracies and of course some are true.
But here is a untrue one, it's just a nice see, on how conspiracy theories can be untrue.

It is to do with US politics and the ways it is involved.
In 1945 Labour tookover, and US Dems, allowed many teams to win Scottish Leagues, but not so Catholic Dems, at the time, did not really support the Celtic team, so many teams won like Rangers and Hibs. Hibs at the time had less of a Catholic image, so Lab as not all that Anti Catholic let them do well.
Then in 1950s the more Anglican Tories, and more Protestant Reps tookover, in the US, and UK, and so helped Rangers, and Dundee, and Hearts the more Protestant teams at the time,. Celtic not helped so do badly as too Hibs. Even Aberdeen win a trophy in this vacuum.

In early 1960s this carried on, with Tories helping them,

Then in 1964 Lab take-over Britain Celtic get helped by Labour, which is now a even more pro Catholic party, as them being included in British society totally, not attacked, Celtic win the tittles too the late 1960s.
Even with the slightly less Anglican than before Tories around, Celtics huge lead is not lessened, LBJ-KENNEDY had a long plan for Celtic to come good in mid 60s, to rebuild odd late 50s decline,

But all the same the Tories give some support to Rangers, and boost them in the early 1970s when elected so they win a European Cup Winners Cup

Finally in mid 70s Tories and later Nixon have their desired affect of making Rangers claw back ahead of Celtic to win a title, especially when Ford came along, as maybe Nixon, was more pro Catholic than Ford, with his brand of more modern version of moderate conservatives, but then Lab and Carter are back in office, they see Lab support Celtic, and Carter both, as a Southerner,. Not a Northern or Texas Dem, so Celtic and Rangers battle out for late 70s tittles.
Yes the Texas dems as more modern than the rest of the South, would have more support for Celtic, but the less modern rest of the south would have more old anti Catholic stuff, despite being Dems, not that Carter is anti Catholic, but as a Baptist he would neither support Rangers or Celtic much, so both do well,

Then in the 1980s the Tories and Reagan come to power, they are not old conservatives but are a brash new right, the Texas Reps, and oil interests of Reagan support Aberdeen, as do rich people Tories and they like Dundee United, not much liking old looking Glasgow, but liking Dundee United as it is near their new North east rich booming oil wealth area pals, so let Dons and DU win as they do not like the old paternalism, of Macmillan, and more lib Eisenhower, they also do not much like old symbol of them Rangers.

But in the late 1980s, they begin to decide they are the old established right, and start supporting Rangers again, so the Tories do this on mass, as to the Reps in USA,

Rangers now dominate Scottish football, to 1992, when Dems take-over, who lose even more of the pro Dons thoughts, then the Tories become anti Aberdeen, saying they are in no sense a new right, they are the old established right that they were not a fresh new modernising face in 1979, but the old Britain, linked to the past old 19th c and 18th C elites, Protestantsim, and Rangers domination.
The Dems are less of the 1960s Catholic party, and do not know really what they support and even try a bit the Dons, till give up,
Then in 1994 the Republican Revolution in the US takes Congress, they consider themselves a turn back to the old era also totally are for Rangers, and do not like the Dons, or Dundee United who are nearly relegated,
Then in 1995 they even start a little bit of help to Celtic as the New reps are not a protestrants party like they were in the 1920s, they are a Catholic, and Prodie P, so they support Celtic and Rangers 2 Political PS, while the Dems, support from 1995 Celtic, as of old Boston links, just like how they support Ireland peace process, this sees from, mid 90s old firm domination,
Then in the late 90s, a Lab p are elected they are styrobly linked to Catholicism, with Blair, and such, and so help Celtic take-over Rangers, for first time, in over a decade,
The new devolved regime, sees Dewar a Protestant help Rangers, come back a bit, then Bush is elected despite being a prodie he likes Celtic as of his Catholic style beliefs and helps Celtic more so they win early 2000s titles but when crunch comes to crunch he supports the Gers, so despite a worse team they win a couple of seasons, in mid 2000s Mconell replaces Mcliesh and he with Catholic links help Celtic,
Hearts did so well in late 90s, and early mid 2000s, as they had links to Labour, and its not actually Tory tradition, but not that radical way, so support Rangers lite, just like Thatcherism, lite, i.e Hearts,
