Cottages in Ireland

There are many cottages in Ireland.

They can be bought, rented or even built a new.

Some have been the birthplaces of the famous, or the sites of important events maybe during the Irish Famine, or the Tithes crisis of the late 19th Century, Sone the birthplaces of people whose ancestors became President of the USA, or Irish Prime Minister.

Many are used by people for many things, from staying in, to having parties in.

Some cottages are large, and some are small.

Some are painted or have white pebble dashing over them. Some are just essentially rubble, or old farmhouses. Some are the old base of old Iron Age eras. Maybe some have always had human occupation upon them since that time, the house changed and altered from hut, to cottage to more. Some sit upon old historical things like raths, or anything.

So cottages can be used for people on fishing trips, or just for quite stay, alone to write a book. Some use them, on honeymoons, or maybe with trips with the family for a school holiday. Some use them, as they are near pals, and want to have a time, totally in the country. Though some cottages will not be in the countryside, but shall be in villages or even busy towns or cities. Some are new, and some are hold. They may be surrounded by gardens, or by just othe rhomes, and roads. Some may have birdtables in the back, or lawns, or flowers. Some may see wildlife, like little birds tweeting, or a hedgehog found from nowhere by a rock lying there. Or even the local cat, or some creature.

There are cottages, in Cork, County Cork, Ulster, Dublin, Belfast, Northern Ireland, Wexford, Dundalk, Drogheda, Leinster, Limerick, Portadown, Rathin Isle, I would think. Of many kinds, some offering Bed and Breakfast, some offering themselves, some just lived in. Or used on a time share basis.

Some in moor like areas, some in flower laden flat lands, of cow fields, and more.

Here are some more sites, there are books and articles on the subjects in many internet places, or internet book shops, bookstores, at the bottom, are lists of which were the worst regimes of the past few centuries.
