Cottages in Northumberland

Cottages and Northumberland is a term that goes together well. For the county of Northumberland in the North Eastern Corner of England, bordering Scotland's Border regions, farmhouses, cottages, bed and breakfast, hotels, and more are thriving industries. You can rent accoomdation and stay in a pals place, you can buy a cottage, or sell one, you can even with planning permission get one built. There are old rubble ones, sometimes used by miners or sheep farmers, there are ones overlooking the coast, the coast not that far from Whitby Bay, of Dracaula fame, there is Blythe, there is Hadrians Wall, there is the closness to New castle United and Sunderland. There are many cottages, some are newly built and near major roads, and some in more remote villages or even on their own in more remote fields at the end of lanes. Many get them as they are near their family which may be there as they holiday in a cottage instead of a hotel, and some stay on a romantic break with a girlfriend. Some may have a honyemoon, here and some may be staying in the cottage for a break to write a novel, like George Orwell in a cottage that was in Scotland. For some staying a cottage will be the right choice though for most a hotwel is cheaper,. But at times it can be cheaper to stay in a hotel for a huge family and depending in travel costs. Just think of staying on near your own home for a relaxing break by a lake, that has a small beach that would be fun. There are many types of cottages, wood, stone, rubble, brick, some may have 2 floors, some a cellar, some a sattelite dish, some a supply of food. Some a boat in a lake.

Northumberland is not spelt Nirthumberland, Northhumberland or Nortumberland
