Seafood dishes of Cyprus include calamari (squid), octopus in red wine, (red mullet), and sea bass. Notable literary figures from Cyprus include the poet and writer Kostas Montis, poet Kyriakos Charalambides, poet Michalis Pasardis, writer Nicos Nicolaides, and also Demetris Th. Gotsis. Dimitris Lipertis and Vasilis Michaelides belong to a special category of folk poets that wrote their poems mainly in the Cypriot dialect.
