Many want a hotel near or in the airport as they want to have place to stay while they visit the city of Denver. Many want a hotel that can offer a base for their vacation. Some may visit the city for work or entertainment, sport, or study. Some may want to have a cheap or luxury hotel in the city. Some may want a large or small hotel in the city. Some may want to visit the city because they want to see the landmarks, the culture, the historic areas, the entertainment or sports arenas of the city. Some may need a hotel near the airport because they have a delayed flight and need somewhere to stay.

The City and County of Denver is the capital and the most populous city of Colorado, in the United States. Denver is a consolidated city-county located in the South Platte River Valley on the High Plains just east of the Front Range of the Southern Rocky Mountains. The Denver downtown district is located immediately east of the confluence of Cherry Creek with the South Platte River, approximately 15 miles east of the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. Denver is nicknamed the Mile High City because its official elevation is exactly one mile, or 5,280 feet above sea level.

Denver International Airport often called DIA, is, by land size, one of the largest international airport areas in the United States. The airport is located in extreme northeastern Denver, Colorado. The airport is 25 miles from downtown Denver, which is 19 miles farther away than Stapleton International Airport, the airport it replaced. The distant location was chosen to avoid noise impacts to developed areas, to accommodate a generous runway layout that would not be compromised by winter storms, and to allow for future expansion. The land was transferred from Adams County to Denver after a 1989 vote, increasing the city's size by 50 percent. However, much of the city of Aurora is actually closer to the airport than the developed portions of Denver, and all freeway traffic accessing the airport from central Denver passes through Aurora.

Stapleton International Airport was Denver, Colorado's primary airport from 1929 to 1995. At different times it served as a hub for TWA, People Express, Frontier Airlines and Western Airlines as well as a hub for Continental Airlines and United Airlines at the time of its closure. In 1995, Stapleton was replaced by Denver International Airport. It has now been decommissioned, and redeveloped as a neighborhood. Stapleton was opened on October 17, 1929 as Denver Municipal Airport, which was later renamed to Stapleton Airfield after expansion in 1944. The renaming was in honor of Benjamin F. Stapleton, the city's mayor most of the time from 1923 to 1947, and the major force behind the project when it began in 1928. Concourse A, the original building from 1929, still was in operations when the airport closed. The airport was originally created by Ira Boyd Humphreys in 1919. In 1982, the inaugural flight of the Boeing 767 landed at Stapleton, after a flight from O'Hare International Airport in Chicago.

Front Range Airport is three miles southeast of Denver International Airport. It is owned by the Front Range Airport Authority, and serves the Denver area. The postal designation of Watkins, a nearby unincorporated community, appears in the airport's mailing address. Front Range is a small general aviation airport, although increased demand has warranted a number of expansion programs in recent years.

Peña Boulevard is a freeway in northeastern Denver, Colorado, owned and maintained by the City and County of Denver, although the southwesternmost half mile is in the city of Aurora. Denver hotels.
