USSR, now the Russian Federation.
Born as the second child to her mother Olga and father Mihail GODIN
When young she liked drawing, and sports.
She played volleyball first when she was 7.
She was not that keen on the sport, but then decided to play in it, on advice from others, including her mother.
Joining the municipal volleyball school “Children Volleyball Section”
In 1991, she joined Uralochka EKATERINBURG, now the major professional club in Russia.
She helped the Junior National Team, win gold in the 1993 Junior World Championships
And Junior European Championships 1994
Where the tall young girl was the blocker of the tournament
Her team, was 3rd at the Junior World Championships of 1995
She played her first game for the Russian international team in what many call the best sport in the world, was at BVC Montreux Volley Masters in May, versus Germany.
In 2002 she had what was thought for a long time, to be her last game for Russia.
She was not picked anymore, as she left Russia to play for teams outside Russia.

She went to Atlanta with other young players such as Artamanova, for the 1996 Olympics, and liked it there, impressed by the way of life there.
She and Gamova, can both block balls reaching 310 CM high.

One time when she was 18, somebody stole a purse from her mum, and she saw the man doing, it, she grabbed him, and made him give her it back, like Superwoman, or Wonder Woman, What a Woman, She was unhappy at the time nobody helped her.
She used to be more shy when young, but now is not.
She
played for TENERIFE Marichal of Spain, in 2003-2004, and got the award IECL 2003/04
Most Valuable Player, as she helped the team to win the Volleyball title.
But then rejoined the Russian League again, and in late 2006, plays for Dynamo Moscow.
Now after that brief interluide in her career, she plays for the Russian Women's Volleyball team, allot again.
So that this site written in November 2006, can say that she helped Russia to win the 2006 World Volleyball Championship. Gold Medal, with Gamova, and co. She was given the award best server.
A team managed by Giovanni Caprara, instead of the authoritarian Nikolay Karpol. The Italian who replaced the Russian helped coach at times via his Russian wife Irina Kirillova, a former Russian Volleyball star.
What a woman
For a while she also played for a Italian Volleyball team, Chieri. Even as late as in March 2005. She is regarded as one of the best players in the world.
She also once played for a Turkish team Eszacibasi ISTANBUL.
In 2007 doctors said she should consider quitting volleyball, she talked of a interest in being in theatre, or being a manager of a sports team. She likes reading books. Despite being a woman admired by many volleyball fans around the world, she claims not have been serenaded as much as most would think, and remains at the moment unmarried, and does not even know if she would have children. Its amazing no man has snapped her up. She is still listed in the Dinamo Moscow roster, a team who won the Russian league, and Champions league in both 2006 and 2007.
