In this game you have to overthrow the fictional fascist kingdom, of Rombalania.
It is the year 1910, And your are the leader of a small revolutionary socialist party, called the Socialist party of Rombalania.
Rombalania, sits between Bulgaria, Romania, and Serbia, in the middle of the Balkans.
The country has a population of 760,000, with a capital of 33,000 people, called Klakgradec, and a major port on the Danube of 80,000 people.
The leader is King Bodris, the ruthless tyrant who lives in his mountain palace, in Summer, and the capital in Winter. 20% of the population are still serfs. With 10,000 slaves in his palace, of which 1000 are concubines for his family.
A oil firm is trying to search for diamond resources and it is felt if he finds them he shall use the money to fund far right facist movements around the world,
Exactly the same history as happens for the rest of the world will happen whatever happens, if you win or lose, except if you win, Rombalania, will see more suffering if you do not win.
You start the game in your HQ in the modernising industrial biggest city of Portgrade.
Your party has 3000 members, here, and 500 outside the country and 400 in other areas mostly farms, of this land.
The South East is split into more tribally led, band areas. And 1 of your pals is from there.
Now you are sitting in party HQ. And have heard that the King has got angry that his recent reforms, of allowing free press, of 6 years ago, has seen parties like yours calling for a parliament and socialist policies, and how you are still calling for a republic.
Actually he only gave the reforms, as of protests by a banned party in this city 6 years ago, and one year after this legalising of parties, he closed the body that was advising him, that had some members from that party, that he opened as a deal to stop the protests, and jailed the party leaders. Your party picked up left overs, and the king allowed this as he felt it would have been good to split the opposistion. But 2 years ago he cracked down on that former lead party, but it fought so hard, that he stopped short of closing down your party, the parliamentry Royalists, i.e Royalists who want a parliament, and the Liberals. The Russian revolution of 1905 helped stop him attacking you all too much.
But now he has decided to crack down on all opposition, as he sees that in many lands, Republicanism, is rising and he feels he must stop you now.
Added to this it used to be that your strengh among secret unions was helping you seem to strong for him, but now a small recession, and his campaign to up immigration, has seen you lose some members, and has seen you lose the strengh of unions, as many industrial workers have left, and so your strengh is now in divided factories, and many industrial workers have emigrated or gone back to farms.
You now hold a debate in your party hq, below the large bridge over the Danube.
