The Cumberland Basin is the main entrance to the docks of the city of Bristol, England. It separates the areas of Hotwells from the tip of Spike Island.
The River Avon never flowed through the Cumberland Basin. Before the 19th century improvements and the construction of the non-tidal Floating Harbour, the Avon flowed through the tidal harbour and out through the future location of the basin. When the basin was constructed though, the river was diverted through the New Cut, bypassing the harbour entirely.
King Street is a 17th century street in the historic city centre of Bristol, England. The street lies just south of the old town wall and was laid out in 1650 in order to develop the Town Marsh, the area then lying between the south or Marsh Wall and the Avon. The north side was developed first and the south side in 1663, when the street was named after Charles II.
Park Street in Bristol runs from College Green up a steep incline northwards to join Park Row at the southern apex of the Clifton Triangle. Looking up the street there is a dramatic view of the Wills Memorial Building. The Wills Memorial Building also known as the Wills Memorial Tower or simply the Wills Tower is a Gothic building situated near the top of Park Street on Queens Road in Bristol. It is considered one of the last great gothic buildings to be built in England.
Bristol Harbour is the harbour in the city of Bristol, England. The harbour covers an area of 70 acres. It has existed since the 13th century but was developed into its current form in the early 19th century by installing lock gates on a tidal stretch of the River Avon in the centre of the city and providing a tidal by-pass for the river. It is called a Floating Harbour as the water level remains constant and it is not affected by the state of the tide on the river.

The Underfall Yard is a historic boatyard on Spike Island serving Bristol Harbour, the harbour in the city of Bristol, England. Underfall Yard was commonly referred to as "The Underfalls" and takes its name from the underfall sluices. The original construction was in the early 19th century with revisions by Isambard Kingdom Brunel in the 1830s.
