Glamorgan Hotels are places to stay in Glamorgan. Many people will stay in hotels in Glamorgan. Maybe visiting mandairins from London seeing the civil service in Wales, or maybe people from North Wales staying in a place like Cradiff, as it may have a HQ for their charity or company for the Wales department there. Glamorgan or Glamorganshire ( Welsh : Morgannwg ) is one of the thirteen historic counties and a former administrative county of Wales. It was originally an early medieval kingdom of varying names and boundaries until taken over by the Normans as a lordship. Glamorgan is latterly represented by the three preserved counties of West Glamorgan, Mid Glamorgan and South Glamorgan. The name also survives in that of the county borough of the Vale of Glamorgan. The county of Glamorgan fell into several distinct regions: the industrial valleys, the agricultural Vale of Glamorgan, and the scenic Gower peninsula.
The county was bounded to the north by Brecknockshire, east by Monmouthshire, south by the Bristol Channel, and west by Carmarthenshire and Carmarthen Bay. Its total area was 2,100 km², and the total population of the three preserved counties of Glamorgan in 1991 was 1,288,309. In 2001 it was around 1.4 million. The historic county of Glamorgan is one of the fastest growing areas in the UK in population Its highest point is at Craig y Llyn (600 m). In teh coal mining era some may have stayed in Glamorgan hotels to see Glamorgan coal purchases, maybe seeing how coal mining works, or seeing the steam trains, take stuff to ports and making dealws in the coal trading places in Cardiff, Hotels in Llantwit Major could be for people staying there to see pals, or friends, or staying here to see if local unviersities are where they w2ant to, go. Also visiting sports teams may stay in hotels in Wales, and Gamotgan too. Initially it was founded as an independent petty kingdom named Glywysing. In the 10th century, it became known as Morgannwg after its greatest monarch, Morgan Hen. It was at times united with the neighbouring kingdoms of Gwent and Ergyng. By virtue of its location and geography, Morgannwg was the second part of Wales, after Gwent, to fall under the control of the Normans and was frequently the scene of fighting between the Marcher Lords and Welsh princes. Once Glamorgan was about as popuklous as other Welsh Counties, then in the Industrial Revolution it became so populous the rest of Wales seemed like they had few people in ocmpairtson. Even today that has a effect. Some may stay in hotels here to see castles here, or make deals with Ams ETC.
Merthyr Tydfil hotels are places to stay ( Welsh: Merthyr Tudful ) is a town and county borough in Wales, with a population of about 55,000. It was formerly in the historic county of Glamorgan. It is often referred to simply as ' Merthyr '. It is famous as once being Wales's most populous place, in the Indusatrial revolution, People stay there in hotels at times, sometimes in those days. ANd what about the people who revolted in the 1830s, some were killed, some of that was near hotels or inns wasn't it, so Merthyr's hotels are famous in democvratic history, part of the democratic history against dictaral undemocratic ways of those adays. The town is located in a South Wales Valleys environment just south of the Brecon Beacons National Park, and this, along with the town's rich history, means it has huge potential for tourism in Wales. National Cycle Route 8 passes through the town. The Brecon Mountain Railway is easily accessible by cycle and car. Merthyr is also on the fringes of Fforest Fawr Geopark designated in 2005 in respect of the area's outstanding geological and cultural heritage. The borough has recently been awarded European Funding as part of the Interreg Collabor8 project and will be working in partnership with the Brecon Beacons National Park Authority to promote the region across Europe. The Taff Bargoed Valley is increasingly becoming an area for outdoor activities and is home to Parc Taf Bargoed and the Summit Centre (formerly Welsh International Climbing Centre). Settlements of interest include Bedlinog and Treharris. Some staying here could be footballers playing against is often regarded as Wales's 5th biggest team in the 1980s, and 4th in the 1990s, while they were in the 5th tier of English football. They have a rivalry with Gloucester, just as Wrexham do with Chester. Some may stay in hotels in these venets, but maybe more likely in more long travelled big games. Or when a event is in Merthyr. Merthyr was so badly hit by the dpression in the 1930s, some thought its population should be moved out. But in the event lets see Merthyr has not been so disasterous since then that that would have been needed. Though it does rank near the bottom of many league tables in many life things. Another local tradition holds that a girl called Tydfil, daughter of a local chieftain named Brychan, was an early local convert to Christianity, and was pursued and murdered by a band of marauding Picts and Saxons while traveling to Hafod Tanglwys in Aberfan, a local farm that is still occupied to this day. The girl was considered a martyr after her death in approximately 480CE. Merthyr translates to Martyr in English, and tradition holds that, when the town was founded, the name was chosen in her honour. A church] was eventually built on the traditional site of her burial. Images of that church can be found on the Merthyr History website. Merthyr partly some say as of Irish immighration, even though it did not start off that well in Ireland, was a football oasis in Rugby Glamorgan some say, which is why it had some good Football teams, The Merthyr Rising of 1831 was the violent climax to many years of simmering unrest among the large working class population of Merthyr Tydfil in South Wales and the surrounding area. The population of Merthyr reached 51,949 in 1861, but went into decline for several years thereafter. Chicago had 29,000 people in 1850. As the 19th century progressed, Merthyr's inland location became increasingly disadvantageous for iron production, and only the Dowlais works invested in steelmaking technology. Penydarren closed in 1859 and Plymouth in in 1880; thereafter some ironworkers migrated to the United States or even Ukraine, where Merthyr engineer John Hughes established an ironworks in 1869 Many moved out in the 20th Century. In the 1870s the advent of coal mining to the south of the town gave renewed impetus to the local economy and population growth. New mining communities developed at Merthyr Vale, Treharris and Bedlinog, and the population of Merthyr itself rose to a peak of 80,990 in 1911. The growth of the town led to its grant of county borough status in 1908 he steel and coal industries began to decline after World War I, and by the 1930s, they had all closed. By 1932, more than 80% of men in Dowlais were unemployed; Merthyr experienced an out-migration of 27,000 people in the 1920s and 1930s, and a Royal Commission recommended that the town's county borough status should be abolished. The fortunes of Merthyr revived temporarily during World War II, as war-related industry was established in the area. In the post-war years the local economy became increasingly reliant on light manufacturing, often providing employment for women rather than men. Today it has 55,600 people. Merthuyr Town once played in the English 3rd Division, mANY PEOPLE in those days may have stayed in hotels here. Mrthyr have also won the Welsh Cup.
