Holiday Tenerife why ever would you not choose a holiday here on thhis islands paradise. Santa Cruz de Tenerife is the second biggest city in the archipelago, the capital of the island and the head of the island government (cabildo insular). It is also officially co-capital of the autonomous community of the Canary Islands together with Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, with whom it shares governmental institutions such as Presidency, Parliament and ministries. Santa Cruz de Tenerife (2005 population 223,148) is a city on the island of Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain.

It is the state of the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and a capital of the autonomous community of the Canary Islands. It is part of one of the two biggest metropolitan areas in the Islands with 423,198 inhabitants, and itself, the second biggest city in the archipelago, second to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria with whom it shares the status of capital city.

It is home to the Parliament of the Canary Islands, the Canarian Ministry of Presidency (shared in a 4 years term years with Las Palmas), a half the ministries and boards of the Canarian Government, (the other half being located in Gran Canaria), the Tenerife Provincial Courts and 2 courts of the Superior Court of Justice of the Canary Islands. There are also several facilities of the La Laguna University lying on Santa Cruz soil, like the Fine Arts School or the Naval Sciences Faculty. Its harbour is one of Spain's busiest and it comprises three different sectors. It is important for its commercial and passenger traffic and for being a major stopover for cruisers en route from Europe to the Caribbean. The TF-1 (or TF1) is a superhighway encircling the eastern and the southern parts of the island of Tenerife (Canary Islands). TF1 Motorway is on the island of Tenerife and runs from Santa Cruz de Tenerife (City) to Adeje in the south of the island. The superhighway is the second westernmost point in all of Africa. It is a 78 km superhighway and interchange numbers go facing south. The superhighway is one in the Canary Islands that passes through most of the municipalities and is the longest in the archipelago as well and is second to the GC1

The superhighway begins with the junction with TF2 and the short TF4 near the Canary Islands' only refinery and is 1 km south of the downtown area of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. The superhighway enters into the northern suburbs

The superhighway was first opened in the late-1970s when tourism arrived, it first opened within Santa Cruz de Tenerife, it later extended to the famous town of Güímar and in the 1990s extended to Arona and later extended last to Adeje to meet up with tourism traffic. The superhighway runs from El Rosario to San Miguel de Abona over the mountain landscape and serves mountain interchanges. The TF1 serves an interchange with the Tenerife South Airport 1 km north of the terminal and several in Abona, the superhighway ends in a circle southwest of Adeje. The GC1 is a superhighway (or motorway) on the island of Gran Canaria. It links the capital Las Palmas in the north with Puerto Rico in the south. It is the fastest route from the top of the island to the bottom and vice versa with a speed limit of 120 km/h (75 mph). It is approximately 75 km (47 miles in length) and runs along the eastern and the southern coasts of this circular island and is also the second longest superhighway in the Canary Islands. The road provides easy access from the airport to the major cities and resorts. The resorts include Maspalomas and Playa del Inglés. The increase in tourism over the years has seen the GC1 route slowly being upgraded and widened to cope with extra traffic. The airport is located in the municipality of Granadilla de Abona, and was inaugurated on November 6, 1978, by Queen Sofía of Spain, after whom the airport is dedicated; by the end of its first year, 1 million passengers had passed through its doors.

Tenerife South Airport (IATA: TFS, ICAO: GCTS), previously known as Tenerife South-Reina Sofia Airport, is one of two international airports located on the island of Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands. The public bus service TITSA offers cheap and quick services to all parts of the island and line 340 connects to the other airport Tenerife North Airport which is 71 km by road. Playa de las Américas is a purpose-built holiday resort between the Municipio of Arona, and Adeje in the south of Tenerife, one of the Canary Islands. It was built in the 1960s beside the town of Los Cristianos and stretching northward to the Costa Adeje. The resort area features numerous bars and nightclubs, as well as a number of beaches, most of which are man-made from imported sand from Africa due to the darkness of the native volcanic sand. Playa de las Americas is well known for being the nightlife epicenter in Tenerife and has a vibrant and varied assortment of bars, clubs, restaurants and attractions. Nightlife is spread around the resort although the most famous areas are the Veronicas strip, Starco Commercial Centre and the Patch. Los Cristianos is a town in Spain with population approximately 11,500 (1991), situated on the south coast of the Canary Island of Tenerife. Located in the municipality of Arona between the cone of Montaña Chayofita and the imposing Montaña Guaza, the town centre is around the bay of Los Cristianos, but is rapidly expanding inland with modern development. The town is a popular tourist resort and an important ferry port.

Unlike its bustling neighbour, Playa de las Américas, this pretty town has a history that predates the tourist boom of the 1970s and '80s. For many years this holiday hub was a quiet fishing village and if you look hard you can still see evidence of its humble origins in the typical Canarian architecture of the older buildings.

Nowadays however, the town offers a vibrant holiday experience with its two golden sand beaches, multitude of bars and restaurants and its year round sunny climate. There is a wealth of accommodation to suit all budgets including hotels, self catering apartments and timeshare resorts. There are also a wealth of excursions focused around the town's busy port including dolphin and whale watching as well as game fishing trips and party cruises
