Fort Lauderdale, known as the Venice of America due to its expansive and intricate canal system, is a city in Broward County, Florida, United States. It is the county seat of Broward County, and a principal city of the South Florida metropolitan area Fort Lauderdale is named after a series of forts built by the United States during the Second Seminole War. However, development of the city did not begin until 50 years after the forts were abandoned at the end of the conflict. Three forts named Fort Lauderdale were constructed; the first was at the fork of the New River, the second at Tarpon Bend, in what is now known as the Sailboat Bend neighborhood, and the third near the site of the Bahia Mar Marina. The forts took their name from Major William Lauderdale, who was the commander of the detachment of soldiers who built the first fort.

Jacksonville is the largest city in the USA state of Florida—in terms of both area and population—and is the county seat of Duval County. Nassau County lies to the north, Baker County lies to the west, and Clay and St. Johns County lie to the south; the Atlantic Ocean lies to the east, along with the Jacksonville Beaches. The St. Johns River divides the city. The Trout River, a major tributary of the St. Johns River, is located entirely within Jacksonville.

Brickell Avenue/Biscayne Boulevard is the main north-south road in downtown, and Flagler Street is the main east-west road in the Central Business District. Downtown, or sometimes referred to as the "Central Business District", is the area north of Broadway, east of I-95, and south of 17th Terrace. Inside of this area includes Park West, the area due west of Bicentennial Park and northern Brickell. Other areas that are many times adjoined with Downtown is the area to the north: Midtown, which is north of 17th Terrace and Brickell to the south.

North Miami is a city located in northeast Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States, about 10 miles (16 km) north of the City of Miami. The city lies on Biscayne Bay and hosts the Biscayne Bay Campus of Florida International University, and the North Miami campus of Johnson & Wales University. Originally the town of "Arch Creek", the area was incorporated as the "Town of Miami Shores", which was renamed the "Town of North Miami" in 1931. Then in 1953, the town was renamed the City of North Miami. The city is also home to the Oleta River State Park, which is the state's largest urban park.

St. Augustine lies in a region of Florida known as The First Coast, which extends from Amelia Island in the north, south to Jacksonville, St. Augustine and Palm Coast.
