Since the fall of the Iron Curtain, Prague has become one of Europe's (and the world's) most popular tourist destinations. It is the sixth most-visited European city after London, Paris, Rome, Madrid and Berlin. Prague suffered considerably less damage during World War II than some other major cities in the region, allowing most of its historic architecture to stay true to form. It contains one of the world's most pristine and varied collections of architecture, from Art Nouveau to Baroque, Renaissance, Cubist, Gothic, Neo-Classical and ultra-modern. Some popular sights include:

Charles Bridge is a famous historical bridge that crosses the Vltava river in Prague, Czech Republic. . Its construction started in 1357 under the auspices of King Charles IV, and finished in the beginning of 15th century. As the only means of crossing the river Vltava (Moldau), the Charles Bridge used to be the most important connection between the Old Town, Prague Castle and adjacent areas until 1841. Also this 'solid-land' connection made Prague important as a trade route between east and west Europe. The bridge was originally called the Stone Bridge (Kamenný most) or the Prague Bridge (Praský most) but has been the "Charles Bridge" since 1870.
Wenceslas Square is one of the main city squares and the centre of the business and cultural communities in the New Town of Prague, Czech Republic. Many historical events occurred there, and it is a traditional setting for demonstrations, celebrations, and other public gatherings.
The Rudolfinum is a music auditorium and one of the most important neo-renaissance buildings in Prague. It is situated at Jan Palach Square on the bank of the river Vltava. During many decades it is the home-stage of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra and one of the main venues for the Prague Spring International Music Festival held each year from May-June. The building was designed by architects Josef Zítek and his student Josef Schulz, and was opened February 8, 1885. It is named in the honour of Rudolf, Crown Prince of Austria, who presided over the opening.
The Vltava is the longest river in the Czech Republic, running north from its source in umava through C(eský Krumlov, C(eské Bude(jovice, and Prague (Praha), merging with the Elbe (Labe) at Me(lník. At their confluence the Vltava actually has more water than the Elbe, but joins the Elbe at a right angle to its flow so that it appears a mere tributary.
