My commendation for King of Comedy, my take
I think King of
Comedy was a great movie. Somebody once said it was not that great. I think it
was among the best, if not the best of Scorcese. I saw somebody's King of Comedy
DVD. And all the actors were bizarrely critical, all a bit low and disdainful
about it, and embarrassed, as if it was some terrible thing. I think it was great
though.
It was a movie that started off as a comedy, where somebody was trying
to become famous, I think most people have small day dreams in youth at that.
But most can not succeed, partly as sometimes others are more talented. Or it
is like the everybody gets 15 minutes of fame things. And that is all they get,
even if they were not trying to be famous. And so what you do not need to be famous,
and lots of people get fame for superficuial reasons, of course they do, so they
are little to look up tyo at tinme,s not that they are all talentless, but it
is not essential to bve famous, Well it would have been typical for there to have
been a movie about a guy who did those forward, activities that De Niro did in
this movie. And him to end up very successful, and the movie to be about him having
some problems as a rich comedian, blah blah. But this time it was of somebody
who failed, and in a funny way. The first time I saw it I thought it was going
to be about somebody who succeeds, but in the end he does not. In the story what
happens to him is the same as what happens in most things. Like most enterants
of talent contests do not win. And they made this film into an interesting way.
Then he just does not give up and does mad stuff. And the comedy goes on and on,
To a conclusions you would never have expected. It just continues going on to
the end, like a Sit Com that actually does go to that place they were syaing they
were going to go to, rather than one, that says, hey that time in Acapulco, whoo
what a time, we had a such a laugh. Yes that can delve into the unrealistic but
in my view the best sit coms are those that delve into the unrealistic .like a
Hippo in the chocolate moose, and make it seem realistisc, using tiny fears most
have to neter those hilarious moment,
It is a great movie, satirising allot,
and including people in interesting ways, not normally in movies. And De Niro
has a personality in this, that is like many of us, the needy etc. personality,
that is probably like many, And loads of other people are, like the lady who asks
Jerry Lewis for his autograph and shouts at him, ok, most of us are not actually
like that, But there are people who are like that. Blah blah, Also they seemed
to say King of Comedy was tragic, and all that.
I think this is crazy, it
was not that tragic, it was a comedy. In the film he was the way he was, but when
I used to go on they bus there were married couples who used walk past a launderette
and shout at eachother like he did and his girlfriend, Added to this the celebrities
are seeming normal but act in a way that is also down to earth. De Niro does not
act down to Earth, and has stuff in his bedroom, that are unusual. But surely
it is like a day dream, and a cross between how most people when young did the
normal thing f putting posters of football team players or pop stars on their
walls, OK he went a bit crazy, but how he had pictures of a audience could be
seen with the kidnapping as the tragic stuff. But come on thats part of the comedy,
Of course if something happened in real life it would be tragic, But the Making
his room a copy of a talk show is mad yes, but surely ut just like that real guy
who made his house into a copy of Star Trek, or all the other people who are a
bit mad at times. But lets face it it is not that tragic, tragic is horror, pain,
and misery and insults, its not that bad to think you can be a great musician
and not be omen, Surely loads of young people as Pop Idol shows have dreams like
that, but slip into other lifestyles, It would have been better if they had got
good jobs earlier, but at least they know they tried and whatever.
So that
is that the ambition is not tragic it is day dreaming and not that bad. After
all many famous people are talent less and many not talented so anyone can be
famous, or ok it would be better if they made a great life for themselves in their
ways too. Being famous is not the only thing to be. But lets face it loads have
the day dream.
Anyway his way has loads of comedy stuff, like going into
a famous person's home, and pretending to be famous, getting a girlfriend by being
pretending to be famous, and her falling for it, I think it satirises fame, celebrity,
the quest for fame, the fact even the most sane people fall for famous people,
and the embarrassing situations things of humour, And shows a group of people
that actually people who are obsessive about certain stuff. I think maybe even
most get obsessive about stuff, whether it is football, work, or cars, or some
TV programme, religion, or politics, pubs, going out to nightclubs so what yes
its bad for you, a nd makes you like a weirdo when unusual but hey its a satire
on that. Theres nothing wrong in many ways in what many horrid people call a weirdo
at times, i say though,
Ok
the only way people can attack, is that he kidnaps the star in the end. Yes that
is bad. And wrong, But lets face loads of movie stars do stuff like that. And
in movies and the difference is do not get caught, and are still hero worshipped
after,
It is not like the evil clockwork orange which the great director
banned as it caught a lick with violent thugs.
I.e it is something that says
to us people, lets face it what he did was mad,
In most movies if people do
bad they are never caught.
Here is a example of movies where people do bad,
and nobody cares and nobody says that is scary
Indiana Jones - they kill loads
of innocent conscripts, Jurassic parc, the dinos eat innocent people,
In
conclusion this is a snobbery by celebrities, of saying free press, allow all
bad stuff in the media, except when v celebs. Or rich elites,
And worst of
all, the same scumbags who condemn king of comedy for that, do not mind scumbags
like Rusell Crowe, and Vinnie Jones beating g people up, a thing far worse and
more mentally damaging, than kidnapping a famous celebrity, who had no chance
of being killed, or kept out forever, could ever be. And loads of other scumbag
actors, and celebs are let off for being appalling filth in real life, while there
aint anything wrong with the joke, and moral lessons of king of comedy saying
crime does not pay (ho ho I just added that on) crime is wrong though, So a mad
man who in real klife spends his days beating people up, is worshipped by horrible
hypocrits who then pretend a guy who comitted one crime in a fictuional movie,
where he was punished, is bad, This shows a fucked up societuy, where scumbag
bullies and thugs are respected more than good people. Not that the kidnpaiing
was good, and yes he was a bit loony, but so are allot of people. and far worse
than that. Ok actually his behaviour was mad, but it was mad escpaits make bvlieve
comedy, and nobody copied it, unlike the movie taxi which actually was seen as
something that was maybe copied, and is not seen as shameful, by people, even
though it did blah blah, and unlike loads of movies not condemmed.
So its
a cool bunch of cool dood movie, really cool. or Catherine Tate a nasty person
being a horrible bullying horrific indivisual so called comedien, she bad too,
supporting bullying and nasty principles I abhor. she seems a horrible person.
