Las Vegas Hotel Reservation

There are many ways to get hotel reservations in Las Vegas. Some tourists may want to a hotel to rent a room in so they can see the shows or go to the casion in the USA nevada city of Las Vegas. Some tourists may want a reservation as they want to ensure they have a hotel room ready for their tourist vacation. As they may worry the hotel they want to visit might be full if they do not reserve a room. Or if they are going at a very busy time they may feel there will be no hotel rooms left. So some feel it is a sensible thing to reserve a hotel room to ensure they have a place to stay, while on vacation.

The area was previously settled by Mormon farmers in 1854 and later became the site of a USA Army fort in 1864, beginning a long relationship between southern Nevada and the USA military. Since the 1930s, Las Vegas has generally been identified as a gambling center as well as a resort destination primarily targeting adults. Relatively inexpensive real estate prompted a residential population boom in the Las Vegas Valley in the 1990s and continues to the present day.

Nellis Air Force Base is located in the northeast corner of the valley. The ranges that the Nellis pilots use and various other land areas used by various federal agencies, limit growth of the valley in terms of geographic area. Due to this reason, the valley has seen more mid- and high-rise buildings erected.

The Las Vegas metropolitan area includes the Las Vegas Valley, a 600 square mile basin, and surrounding areas, that is part of Clark County in southern Nevada. The area contains the largest concentration of people in the state. The history of the Las Vegas metropolitan area largely coincides with the history of the city of Las Vegas.

Las Vegas Valley is an area generally defined by the Spring Mountains on the west, Sheep Mountains to the north, Muddy Mountains, Eldorado Range and Lake Mead to the east, and the Black Mountains to the south.

The Sheep Range is located north of Las Vegas, Nevada in the United States. It is found in both Clark County and Lincoln County in the Desert National Wildlife Refuge. The mountains reach a peak at Hayford Peak, at 9,912 feet above sea level between the Las Vegas Range to the east and the Desert Range to the west. The Sheep Range lies in a generally north-south direction.

Lake Mead is the largest man-made lake and reservoir in the United States. It is located on the Colorado River about 30 miles southeast of Las Vegas, Nevada, in the states of Nevada and Arizona. Formed by water impounded by Hoover Dam, it extends 110 mi behind the dam, holding approximately 28.5 million acre feet of water.

The Black Mountains, a mid-Miocene formation, in Nevada are a series of rugged, rocky volcanic mountains ranging in elevations to 3,025 feet. The range runs from California into Arizona. The Black Mountains are essentially a continuation of the Amargosa Range, and lie in a generally north-south direction at the southern end. The range includes named feature like the Redstone Peaks

Deep canyons and washes that flow southeast into the Overton Arm of Lake Mead cut into the mountain range. The range contains deposits of soft manganese oxides/hydroxides.

The area around Mt. Charleston is protected in the Mount Charleston Wilderness Area. Typically 20-30 degrees cooler than the valleys below, the area is a popular getaway for Las Vegas residents and visitors; the Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard Resort lies in Lee Canyon on State Highway 156.

The Spring Mountains are a mountain range of southern Nevada in the United States, running generally northwest-southeast along the west side of Las Vegas and down to the border with California. The highest point is Mount Charleston, at 11,918 ft (3,633 m). They are a sky island. The range is named for the number of springs to be found, many of them in the recesses of Red Rock, which is on the eastern side of the mountains. The Spring Mountains divide the Pahrump Valley and Amargosa River basin from the Las Vegas Valley, which drains into the Colorado River, thus the mountains define part of the boundary of the Great Basin.

The Las Vegas Ski and Snowboard Resort, also known to locals as Lee Canyon, is located in the Spring Mountains National Recreation Area, about 45 minutes' drive northwest of Las Vegas, Nevada via US 95. It is privately owned and operated. The best snow is usually found in February and early March, although occasionally sufficient snow cover exists as early as November.
