Hotels in Laughlin are often required for tourists who need accommodation. Some tourists want to see the entertainment of the area. Some may want to see the landscapes and historic regions around the city. Some may want to see the culture, or sports of the area. Some may want to see the casinos or gambling. Some might want to partake in a gamble in the area, but some may not want to take up gambling.

Laughlin is a census designated place in Clark County, Nevada, United States. Laughlin is a port located on the Colorado River 152.3 km south of Las Vegas. Directly across the river from Laughlin is Bullhead City, Arizona, which has four times the population of Laughlin and supplies much of the workforce.

Laughlin's name comes from Don Laughlin who bought the southern tip of Nevada in 1964 (informally called South Pointe). Laughlin operated the 101 Club in Las Vegas. He opened what would become the Riverside Resort. Laughlin wanted to call the community Riverside or Casino but the Post Office opted for Laughlin instead.

Laughlin has been the third most visited casino and resort destination in the state after Las Vegas and Reno. The unincorporated township is named for founder Don Laughlin, an Owatonna, Minnesota native who owns the Riverside Resort and Casino.

Laughlin/Bullhead International Airport also known as Bullhead City International Airport, is a public airport located 2 km north of the central business district of Bullhead City, in Mohave County, Arizona, USA. The airport is across the Colorado River and one block away from the city of Laughlin, Nevada. Many of the rooms at Laughlin's hotels offer a view of the airport's action. Bullhead City in itself is not a large city. However, after the expansion, by Don Laughlin and other casinos, the city of Laughlin needed a larger airport in the area. Don Laughlin had envisioned his city as a competitor to Las Vegas in the gambling and other tourist related markets, and soon, he set up the Don Laughlin Riverside Resort. Many other hotels began to open franchises in Laughlin soon after. Bullhead City airport was expanded to become Laughlin Bullhead City International Airport and was completed by 1985, with a large runway to accommodate commercial jets.

Clark County is a county located in the USA state of Nevada. It contains the city of Las Vegas, the state's most populous city. Las Vegas has been the county seat since the county was created by splitting off a portion of Lincoln County on February 5, 1908. Much of the county was originally part of Pah - Ute County, Arizona Territory before Nevada became a state. The county was named for William Andrews Clark, a Montana copper magnate and United States Senator. Clark was largely responsible for the construction of the Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad through the area, a factor heavily contributing to the region's early development. The Colorado River forms the county's southeastern boundary, with Hoover Dam forming Lake Mead along much of its length. Las Vegas is frequently, yet incorrectly labeled a valley. By definition, Greater Las Vegas is a land basin or bowl, surrounded by four mountain ranges, with nearby Mount Charleston being the highest elevation at around 11,918 ft, located to the northwest. Other than the forests on Mount Charleston, the geography in Clark County is a desert. Creosote bushes are the main native vegetation, and the mountains are mostly rocky with little vegetation.
