Lincoln Hotels are great places to stay when in Lincoln. Lincoln is a city in Lincolnshire, where many stay in a holiday. Lincoln is a cathedral city and county town of Lincolnshire, England. The non-metropolitan district of Lincoln has a population of around 101,000 - the 2001 census gave the entire urban area of Lincoln a population of 120,779. The council identifies a 'Greater Lincoln' catchment area covering surrounding villages, which has a population of 250,000. It has several twin towns: Port Lincoln, South Australia; Radomsko, Poland; Tangshan, China; The city is a tourist centre and those who come do so to visit the numerous historic buildings including, of course, the Cathedral, the Castle, the Medievel Bishop's Palace and the specialist shops of Steep Hill and Bailgate. The Collection, of which the Usher Gallery is now a part, is an important attraction. Housed partly in a recently opened, purpose-built venue, it currently contains over 2,000,000 objects, and was one of the four finalists for the 2006 Gulbenkian Prize. Any material from official archaeological excavations in Lincolnshire is eventually deposited at in The Collection so it is growing all the time. Other attractions include the Museum of Lincolnshire Life and The Sir Joseph Banks Conservatory at The Lawn, Lincoln, adjacent to Lincoln Castle. Tranquil destinations close by include Whisby Nature Reserve and Hartsholme Park, while noisier entertainment can be found at Waddington airfield, Scampton airfield (base of the RAF's Red Arrows jet aerobatic team), the County Showground or the Cadwell Park motor racing circuit near Louth. Because of its climate, Lincoln attracts many of its tourists in the summer, but also during the second weekend of December when the Bailgate area of the city holds its annual Christmas Market in and around the Castle grounds. Another development is also expected to be completed by 2011/12 called Lindongate which includes plans for a new department store, shops, hotel, apartments and new transport facilities.

Hotels heremay be family run, or owned by big companies, and some may be staying for holidays, or for to meet busuibness partners, or pals. Lincolnshire ( is a county in the east of England. It borders Norfolk, Cambridgeshire, Rutland, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, South Yorkshire, and the East Riding of Yorkshire. It also borders Northamptonshire for just 19 metres, England's shortest county boundary. The county town is the city of Lincoln, where the county council has its headquarters. The ceremonial county of Lincolnshire is composed of the non-metropolitan county of Lincolnshire and the area covered by the unitary authorities of North Lincolnshire and North-East Lincolnshire. The county is the second largest of the English counties and one that is predominantly agricultural in land-use. For the purposes of a general geographical classification the county can be broken down into a number of sub-regions including: the Lincolnshire Fens (south Lincolnshire), north Lincolnshire version of the Fens are the Carrs, the Lincolnshire Wolds, and the industrial Humber Estuary and North Sea coast around Grimsby and Scunthorpe. The majority of tourism in Lincolnshire relies upon the coastal resorts and towns in the Lincolnshire Wolds. Skegness is a popular UK seaside destination and attracts many visitors a year. Along with neighbouring resorts of Ingoldmells, Chapel St Leonards and Mablethorpe it provides a number of amusements, leisure activities and beaches. Caravan sites are also very popular on the Lincolnshire coast. The market towns of the Lincolnshire Wolds also attract, with several having historic links. The wolds are also relatively popular for cycling and walking, with events such as the Lincolnshire Wolds Walking Festival taking place bi-yearly. Nature is also an attraction for tourists with the South east of the county predominantly being fenland that give home to many species of bird. This is also the case at the nature reserve, Gibraltar Point. Saltfleetby and Theddlethorpe Nature Reserve offers similar opportunities with the reserve at Donna Nook having the advantage of a native seal colony that is a large draw for those interested in wildlife. Lincolnshire also offers shopping facilities in Grimsby and Lincoln, with Lincoln having seen significant development. The Springfields Outlet Shopping Centre in Spalding has also been extended to include new shops and a hotel. Lincoln has the attraction of a historic quarter based around Steep Hill and the 800 year old Lincoln Cathedral and a trendier area around the University and at the Brayford Waterfront. Many have hotels here.
