The Barbados Stock Exchange (BSX)
The Barbados Stock Exchange or BSE is Barbados's main stock exchange. It's headquarters are in the capital-city Bridgetown in Hinks street.
On July 4, 2001 the BSE switched from the manual, open auction outcry method of trading, to electronic trading using the Order routing method. The Barbados Stock Exchange is considered one of the big three regional Caribbean stock exchanges.
The Barbados Stock Exchange is an association of Member Brokers, operating a Central Marketplace for trading securities. The original trading facility, the Securities Exchange of Barbados(SEB), was established in 1987, under the Securities Exchange Act, Cap 318A, of 1982. The BSE was re-incorporated on August 2, 2001 simultaneously with the enactment of the Securities Act 2001 -13, which repealed and replaced the original Act of 1982. However, the BSE remains a privately owned (by it's Members), non-profit organization.
The affairs of the BSE are administered by a Board of Directors, through a General Manager.

pronounced "BarBayDos"
The City of Bridgetown, population 5,928 (1990) metropolitan area 110,000 (2000), formerly the Town of Saint Michael, is the capital city of the island nation of Barbados. Geographically the Bridgetown port is located, on the southwestern coast of the island along the Caribbean Sea.
Although the island was totally abandoned or uninhabited when the British landed there, one of the only traces of an indigenous tribe's pre-existence on the island was a very primitive bridge constructed over the Careenage ("Constitution River") in the centre of Bridgetown. It is suspected that this bridge was created by a people indigenous to the Caribbean known as the Arawak Indians. Upon finding the structure the British settlers began to call what is now the Bridgetown area, Indian Bridge.
Barbados is an island nation located towards the east of the Caribbean Sea and in the west of the Atlantic Ocean, part of the eastern islands of the Lesser Antilles, with the nations of Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines being its closest neighbours. The island is 430 square kilometres, (166 sq. mi), and is primarily low-lying, with some higher areas in the island's interior. It is located 13° north of the Equator and 59° west of the Prime Meridian, about 434.5 kilometres (270 mi) northeast of Venezuela.
In Germany there is a website for disucssing soccer and the site has been named a Sock exchange.
Barbados Blackbelly sheep are a sheep name after the island.
The Barbado breed originated in Texas, not Barbados, yet the breed originated from Barbados Blackbelly sheep which were crossed with Rambouillet and mouflon. One of the uses of the Barbado is as a trophy animal on game ranches due to its large curled horns. It is typically tan, tan with a pale or black belly or pied. The coat varies from short hair to coarse wool with a large amount of kemp fibers. Males show the horns for which the breed was selected and the females are polled.
The surname Barbay does not originate from the island. It is Belgian variant of the French Barbeau, or a Respelling of French Barbé, meaning bearded, from an adjectival derivative of barbe.
