Destiny's Child was an American R&B group. Originally a duo, later a quartet, the group eventually became a trio, final members were Beyoncé Knowles, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams. The group had record sales of 50 million albums and singles. On June 12, 2005, they announced on tour in Barcelona, Spain, that they will no longer be performing together, instead pursuing individual careers in music, theatre, television and film. In 2005 British retail billionaire Philip Green has hired chart-topping R&B group Destiny's Child to perform at his son's bar mitzvah.

Beyoncé's new album is the artist's first full length work since her 1 multi-platinum 2003 debut, "Dangerously In Love" which earned her five 2004 Grammy Awards including Best Contemporary R&B Album and Best R&B Song (Crazy In Love). With her five in 1 year Grammy win, Beyoncé tied the record for the most Grammys to be won in 1 year by a female artist. "Dangerously In Love" and "Crazy In Love" made chart history when both album and single simultaneously hit 1 in the USA and the UK.

Beyoncé toured for the first time as a solo artist in 2003 in support of "Dangerously In Love," which has sold more than 11 million records worldwide.

In 2006 R&B star Beyonce Knowles was holding open auditions for an all-girl band to play on her world tour. The singer auditioned musicians, including drummers, keyboard players, bassists, guitarists, horn players and percussionists - from across the USA.

The tour, which starts this month, will support the release of her second solo album, B'Day, released in September.

Knowles has enjoyed global success as a solo artist as well as with her band Destiny's Child, who split last year.

One of her favorite songs is "Lovefool" by the Cardigans.
