Almas - Mongolia's Bigfoot

Almas, Mongolian for 'wild man', is a presumed hominid reputed to inhabit Caucasus and Pamir Mountains of central Asia, and Altai Mountains of southern Mongolia. Most mainstream scientists consider the Almas to be a purely legendary creature.

Almas is a singular word in Mongolian. As is typical of the unknown hominids throughout central Asia, Russia, and the Caucasus, Almas are generally considered to be more akin to wild people in appearance and habits than to apes

Almas are typically described as human-like bipedal animals, between five and six and a half feet tall, their bodies covered with reddish-brown hair, with anthropomorphic facial features including a pronounced browridge, flat nose, and a weak chin. Usually described as unclothed, but a handful of sightings refer to primitive clothing. Many cryptozoologist researchers have been struck by the similarity between these descriptions and modern reconstructions of how Neanderthals might have appeared.

Barmanou - Afghanistan and Pakistan

The Barmanou (or Barmanu) is said to be a bipedal primate living in the mountainous region of Afghanistan and Pakistan.

They are held to walk somewhat awkwardly and are often said to be "murmuring" in what is assumed to be their own language. It is also said by the islanders that the Ebu Gogo can repeat what is said to them in parrot like fashion.

Yowie - Australia's Bigfoot More on the Yowie

In a modern context, Yowie is the generic term for the unidentified hominid reputed to lurk in the Australian wilderness. It is an Australian cryptid analogous to the Himalayan Yeti and the North American Bigfoot.

Rather confusingly, Yowie (or "Yowie-Whowie") is also the name of a completely different mythological character in native Australian Aboriginal folklore. This version of the Yowie is said to be a bizarre, hybrid beast resembling a cross between a lizard and an ant. It emerges from the ground at night to eat whatever it can find, including humans. This creature's characteristics and legend are sometimes interchangeable with those of the bunyip.

Bunyip - Australia

Descriptions of bunyips vary wildly. Common features in Aboriginal drawings include a horse-like tail, flippers, and walrus-like tusks. According to legend, they are said to lurk in swamps, billabongs, creeks, riverbeds, and waterholes. At night their blood curdling cries can be heard as they devour any animal that ventures near their abodes.

Other mythical monsters, believed by some to be true, include, the Loch Ness Monster, Big Cats in Britain, that other Nessie style creature supposedly in Loch Maree, called muc-sheilch., also one supposedly in Llyn Tegid, or Bala Lake, in Mid Wales, also that monster supposedly in Zambia which a tribe believed caused earthquakes, that apparently looked like a whirlwind, and was in the river, also aliens, el chupacabra, dragons, unicorns, mokele mbembe, vampires, zombies, witches, wizards, and wearwolves. The Beast of Gévaudan (French: La bête du Gévaudan) was a legendary wolf-like creature that terrorised the former province of Gévaudan (modern day Lozère département), in the Margeride Mountains in south-central France from about 1764 to 1767. Many attacks took place - between 60 and 100 people were killed - and debate continues as to the Beast's true identity. The story is a popular subject for cryptozoologists and conspiracy theorists.
The Beast was described as being a wolflike creature the size of a cow, with a wide chest, a long sinuous tail with a lion-like tuft of fur on the end, and a greyhound-like head with small straight ears and large protruding fangs. The creature was said to have red fur, and a peculiar white stripe that ran down the length of its chest. The sole survivor of the attack, a young peasant girl, described it: "It was as large as a cow, with claws the size of a man's hand."
It may have been able to leap up to thirty feet, according to analysis of some of its tracks.

Of course some Mexican tribes in the era when they were conquerred by Spanish people, thought that the people on horses were a species for a while.

Here is a picture of Bala Lake also known as Llyn Tegid, there is also supposed according to some myths supposed to be a myth about a Yeti on Snowdon, but Snowdon is filled by people, so of course it can not exist. This may be quite a recent legend too. Any search for it would just be a joke. Some people call them the Welsh Yeti and the Welsh Nessie. So here are more mentions of lake monsters.
