Mobile phone decorum - good manners

Some people find the use of mobile phone is a public place annoying.

Although in many nations, e.g., the US, such equipment is currently illegal. Transportation providers, particularly those involving long distance services, often offer a quiet car where phone use is prohibited, like designated non-smoking cars in the past. Mobile phone use on aircraft is also prohibited, because of concerns of possible interference with aircraft radio communications, although this has been relaxed recentely.

Actor Spacey attacked audiences who allow their mobile phones to ring during theatre performances, saying visitors should learn to behave.

In 2003 Cinema owners in Dublin have come under fire for stopping customers from receiving calls on their mobiles in the middle of a movie.

In France the government allowed laws for Mobile phone signals to be jammed in French cinemas and theatres to prevent the devices disturbing the audience.
The French government has backed a move to install equipment to block signals in cinemas, concert halls and theatres.
