mobile phone virus
As
mobile phones become more sophisticated the software will become more susceptible
to bug issues and to virus issues. This can lead a user open to premium rate scam
from crook types.
In 2004 The first ever computer virus spread by mobile
phones was been sent to anti virus firms. No infections were reported and the
worm was harmless but it is proof that mobiles are at risk from virus writers. The
worm, known as Cabir, infected phones and devices running the Symbian operating
system. When the mobile phone was turned on, the worm would launch itself and scan
the area for other phones to infect, sending a copy of itself to any it finds.
Soon after were Mobile phone-users were being warned to
look out for a virus detected inside a pirate version of a game called Mosquitos.
The game only worked on certain phones running on Symbian OS Series 60.
It is agreed that people who make phones and write the programs that run on
them are a lot more careful than the computer community, but the software is not
as complicated.
Once these viruses were an urban myth and :
The Lebanese parliament was asked to investigate reports
that the "Chernobyl computer virus" infected local cellular phone networks
creating panic across the country. It was found out to be a hoax.
