Ragnarok Online
MMORPG
Ragnarok Online is a (MMORPG)A massively multiplayer online role-playing game, created by Gravity Corporation of South Korea. Much background of the game is based on a manhwa Ragnarok created by Lee Myung-Jin. An anime was created, Ragnarok The Animation, which is based on the game. A sequel is currently in development, Ragnarok Online 2.
The MMORPG is set in the world of Rune Midgard. For the most part, the game lacks a plotline, but there are small quests or events set up by the administrators of the game sporadically to add depth and maintain interest.
The game's tutorial does mention there is a war between man and monsters, an accurate observation given the experience is given to the player when they kill monsters. However, warring is not limited to man versus monster combat, as ingame guilds can fight against each other in a War of Emperium, a battle between several guilds for castles in towns, which gives access to dungeons and treasures not accessible to people not in the residing guild.
The currency of the game is Zeny, which can be obtained by the selling items recovered from defeating monsters. The economy in Ragnarok Online is driven heavily by rare items not sold in stores and there is a very large difference in wealth between players, for most part. The Merchant class offers vending of items to other players, overcharging of items, and discounts.
War of Emperium
The War of Emperium, also known as WoE, is fought in castle maps, located near
major cities, each castle having unique layouts. Guilds who manage to control
the castle at a war's end get access to treasure boxes, which may yield extremely
rare equipment, as well as access to secret guild dungeons for leveling purposes.
Serious Offenses
Methods of serious cheating includes
The usage of bots to level or collect rares
Using a MVP (boss) detector for boss hunting
Using a speed hack to speed up the character's attack.
Hexing the game's client to allow player to open 2 RO program at the same time.
Usually referred to as "dual-clienting," this allows players to login
to two different accounts at once, even though many people use this to utilize
all their accounts without buying another computer.
Hexing the game's client to allow damage to be shown in guild wars, to detect
hidden characters (Hiding is one skill in Ragnarok
There are mumerous cities in the game such as Prontera, The capital city of Rune-Midgard, Izlude Satellite of Prontera, Geffen, & Payon.
In Norse mythology, Ragnarök (fate of the gods is the battle at the end of the world. It would supposedly be waged between the gods (the Æsir, led by Odin) and their aggressors (the fire giants, the Jotuns and various monsters, led by Loki). Not only will some of the gods, giants, and monsters perish in this apocalyptic conflagration, but almost everything in the universe will be torn asunder.
Ragnarok is a manwha created by Myung Jin Lee and distributed by Tokyopop in the USA. This manwha became the basis of the widely popular Korean MMORPG, Ragnarok. Although years later, the online game divorced itself from the story. As Myung is working on the online game, the manwha is on hiatus. Ragnarok follows the life and adventures of a warrior Chaos, who is an amnesiac so cannot remember anything from the last two years in his life. He resides in a fictional city cited as Fayon, inhabited by a long lineage of warriors

A MMORPG is an online computer role-playing game (RPG) in which
many players interact with one another in a virtual world. As in all RPGs, players
assume the role of a fictional character (traditionally in a fantasy setting)
and take control over most of that character's actions. MMORPGs are distinguished
from single-player or small multi-player RPGs by the game's persistent world,
usually hosted by the game's publisher, which continues to exist and evolve
while the player is away from the game. MMORPGs, as we define them today, have
existed since the early 1990s. However, they have a history that extends back
into the late 1970s. Some of the best-established independent projects are AWplanet,
Crossfire, Daimonin, RuneScape, Endless Online, Star Wars Combine, Dream Blue
Online and Planeshift.
