Her parents continued to run a mail-order business "Party Pieces" from home. The enterprise, was successful enough to cover their daughter's £20,000-a-year fees at elite boarding school Marlborough College.
Miss Middleton's relationship with the prince apparently flourished during weekends alone on the Queen's Balmoral estate - at a secluded cottage given to William and Harry as a bolthole.

Background info:

Bucklebury is a village in Berkshire, England. Dating back to pre-Norman times the Village, including the church, is detailed in the Doomsday Book.

There are three main parts that make up the parish of Bucklebury. The original village is situated on the banks of the river Pang. Directly south of Bucklebury village, and much higher up, is Bucklebury Common. This is an area of managed heather and woodland. Although open to all ‘commoners’ the land is privately owned. During the Second World War, much of the land was cleared for the stationing of troops, and some of the concrete paths laid down can still be found there, now used as bridleways. It was also once the location for a monks retreat, from Reading Abbey. At the eastern border of the common is the Blade Bone Pub, a butchers, a Doctor's Surgery and a tea shop.

The University of St Andrews is the oldest university in Scotland and 3rd oldest in the English language speaking world, having been founded between 1410 and 1413. It is situated in the Royal Burgh of St Andrews, in Fife, on the east coast of Scotland. The university attracts students from over 100 nations. Independent school intake is high, but the university has an active widening participation policy. The modern library and many departments are in the town centre. The town's population of 16,000 is boosted considerably by the University's 7,000 students.

Marlborough College is a British boarding school in the county of Wiltshire, founded in 1843 for the education of the sons of Church of England clergy, although it accepts boys and girls of all beliefs.
