lakes, tarns and reservoirs in the Lake District National Park, Cumbria, England.
The Lake District National Park is one of 14 National parks in the UK. It lies within Cumbria, and is one of England's few mountainous regions. All the land in England higher than three thousand feet above sea level lies within the Park. To the north is Scotland
Windermere is the largest natural lake in England, and is entirely within in the Lake District National Park. It is been one of the countrys most popular places for holidays and summer homes since 1847, when a Kendal and Windermere Railway built a branch line to it. Since mere, means, lake , referring to Windermere as Lake Windermere is tautologous, though common.
