North Myrtle Beach is a city in Horry County, South Carolina, United States. It was created in 1968 from four existing municipalities north of Myrtle Beach, and serves as one of the primary tourist towns along the Grand Strand.

The area is divided into 3 separate areas based on its former municipalities. These are Windy Hill, Crescent Beach, and Cherry Grove, a spit bordering North Carolina. Atlantic Beach, which lies inside of North Myrtle Beach, chose to remain its own town during the merger. It is serviced by the greater city but is independently run.

Briarcliffe Acres is a settelement in Horry County, South Carolina, United States. Briarcliffe Acres was developed as a retirement community by Kenneth Ellsworth, a native of upstate New York (from which he took the name of his project), who married Virginia (Ginny) Gasque (pronounced "gas-kwee" or, by some, "gas-kee"). Her family came from the nearby town of Conway, South Carolina. Briarcliffe was one of the first planned communities in the southeast, which is interesting on its own terms, but its story is a window into the whole of the area (not even mentioning the Vereens, in whose home George Washington slept, and much more besides).

Little River is a census designated place (CDP) in Horry County, South Carolina, United States. The river from which it takes its name flows into the Atlantic at the border between South Carolina and North Carolina, the inlet being a breakpoint for tropical cyclone warnings.
